Chapter Twenty-Two Minutes before the Wilsons awoke to the fire alarm, Melony Jones sat alone in the reactor control room. She’d just finished video-chatting with her boyfriend. He liked to contact her and talk each evening before heading to bed. That was part of why Melony enjoyed the night shift. She was alone, and things were more relaxed. Glancing at all the indicators on the console, she saw that, as always, everything was running fine. In all her years in this job, she’d never seen a light that wasn’t green on that console.
