Chapter Seventy
The ORV pulled up to the curb, and the three passengers got out. Tyler drove away after saying goodbye to the co-workers he usually dropped off on his way home. He dreaded their departure. Now, he was alone with his thoughts—the same thoughts whose torment was steadily growing stronger.
He tried to stay busy to keep his mind on something else. However, that strategy was proving less and less effective, and his mood and attitudes were slipping into unpleasant places. The people around him were feeling the side effects.
His wife, Becca, had been understanding at first, but her tolerance for his negativity and explosive reactions was running out. He loved her dearly and knew that he would soon lose her because he couldn’t change. He had been trying for years.
