Chapter Sixteen
Following the Tanner family, Sam and Lucy entered the theater. The six of them had spent much of the last day together exploring the shelter. They’d learned their way around and even had a few surprises.
They encountered a large hall with glass windows on one side, where they could see into a massive chamber about the size of four football fields. Inside were thousands of different plants. They recognized tomatoes, beans, and melons, but there were dozens of other varieties that they couldn’t identify. The illuminated chamber had strange lights that made the room look sunlit.
Further down the hall was a set of double doors that read “Hydroponics”, which led inside the vast space. Each of them took a turn, trying to open the doors with their card. None worked.
