Chapter Twenty-Eight The new arrivals parked in an area similar but larger than the one they’d departed from. Identical vehicles to the ones they saw when they were at Shelter 16 were in rows on multiple levels. Six people in radiation-resistant suits, with air tanks on their backs, approached the bus and scanned it with handheld radiation detectors. After several minutes, the one in charge signaled that all was clear. He then boarded the bus as the others backed away.
