I’ve never really understood the Resistance. Oh, like I said before, I know where they come from, and now you do too, but… SynCorp isn’t evil, exactly. It’s just a sealed system driven by a single motivating factor: profit. Everything from top to bottom—from pulling helium-3 and deuterium out of Jupiter’s clouds to selling fantasies on the Fleshway—is about ensuring that SynCorp’s profit margin continues to grow at a rate acceptable to the Five Factions. Nothing wrong with that. People gotta eat. Other people need red-marble floors imported from Mars. SynCorp makes sure everybody gets something.
