Chapter 4: Betrayed

Lily looked around the huge dining table at all the people seated there, she felt nervous as if she was sitting on a ticking time bomb, she had come along with Adrien to the family house, it was a monstrous three storey building sitting on the earth, she sometimes wonders why they built such a big house when they weren't a large family. 'The life of the rich' she always wonders.

A maid was serving the dishes out, lily swallowed

"So how's work" Adrien father was asking as everyone started eating

"Everything is good, the company is doing more than alright" he replied

"That's good to hear, and no matter how busy you are with work you should make time to visit home, so as not to worry your mum" he said

"Alright"

"ha....alright? You never come back home ever since you got married, why? Is it because of your wife?" His mother flared up

Lily stiffened upon hearing her name

"I said I'll try and come back isn't that enough" he snarled

"Don't try, do it" she countered glaring at him

Adrien didn't bother to reply her back....his mother has always been a nagging woman

"Oh mi gosh" clara shouted staring at her phone with her mouth wide open

"What's that"

"What's wrong honey"

Her parents were asking, everyone stopped eating

"Brother just got caught in another scandal" she said as she dropped the phone on the table

"What" everyone was saying

Lily was the first to grab unto the phone, Adrien was in the picture lying down on a bed in an hotel with a lady who seems familiar, they were basically naked under the duvet that covered them, she glanced at the woman's picture again deeply, she felt her heart tighten

"No, no it can't be" she was muttering as the phone slid down her hands

"Hey what's wrong with you, do you know how much that phone's worth" clara said angrily as she picked her phone staring at the cracked screen, but lily wasn't listening as she stared at her empty hands still shocked from what she saw.

It was Kayla in Adrien's arm, the same Kayla who was her best friend, the same Kayla who she shared her thoughts with about her treatment in the flincher's family, she felt the tears rolling down her face

"Noooo" she screamed and ran out of the house not looking back, she ran down the alley only stopping when she felt she was a good distance behind the house, she bent down and cried deeply

"Get the f*****g reporter who made that news out, I want him in the next thirty minutes" Adrien shouted into the phone

"What have you gotten yourself into, you even made it into the news headline, congratulations" clara said to him in a mocking voice

Adrien glared at her, he picked up his coat and stood up

"You're leaving" his mother asked

"Yes" he replied

"You aren't going to look for your wife" his sister asked

"How's that your business" he said with a glaring face

She shrugged "you know, you're more heartless than I thought, lily must have really gone through a lot to put up with you, won't be surprised if she left you which isn't going to be far from now"

Adrien stopped in his tracks 'leave him' he hasn't thought about that yet, not that it was possible, if she left him he was going to make her precious family life the rest of their lives in misery. Still he was feeling a little bit bothered

He faced clara "where did you hear that from" he asked

She rolled her eyes "why do you care, you don't love her"

The next minute he was in front of his sister "I asked you where did you hear that from" he said quietly

Clara felt subdued, she was scared anytime her brother spoke in this tone

"I didn't hear it from anyone, anyone who's not blind can see it clearly written on her face"

Adrien was lost in thought, clara saw this as an opportunity

"Well it's not like you treat her well, ever since you married her you've treated her no less than a servant" she continued

"And also yo..u...

"Shut it" Adrien said

"What?"

"Do you still have anything to say" he asked glaring at her directly

Clara swallowed her words back "No"

"Good, I'll take my leave" he said glancing from his father then to his mother

As he walked out, he picked his phone up and dialled a number "check the young miss locatiion and send it to me immediately"

As he walked the servants shrinked back because of the look on his face

After crying her eyes out she felt weak and tired as she looked at the cars passing by, she wasn't ready to get back home, she wasn't even with cash to go back.

Now she was determined to level Adrien, she wasn't going to back down in this fight to have her freedom back, she stood up and felt like her head was carrying a ton of bricks, she relaxed her back against a wall for some time before she started walking toward the bus stop.

She felt the tears roll as she recalled the picture of Kayla and Adrien together on the bed, she still felt like she was in a dream and was hoping to wake up from it, suddenly it occurred to her that Kayla has said she has a shoot in New York and at that time Adrien also went for business in New York too, she felt that was when they had their scandal since she wouldn't be there and no one was going to keep an eye on them.

She felt like she was going to faint and didn't look at where she was going bumping into something hard, she felt herself falling but at that moment she felt herself drawn upward toward something warm, she loved the scent and buried her head deeply into the warmth.

"You should watch your steps while walking" she heard a deep voice say

She looked up quickly at the familiar voice and met deep blue eyes looking at her, she felt the eyes were familiar and she has seen them somewhere but couldn't place a hand on it.

The man pushed her gently away from him and walked towards a black Porsche waiting by the road with the driver waiting, she stared after him with a confused look on her face as the car sped past her.
