"Are you excited Ivory?" As my feet touch the last step of the stairs I glare at my dad. I was never a morning person and I hated school. So you get why I’m glaring at my dad right now
"Yeah. Sure. Whatever." I reply. After arriving Paradise Father and I immediately unpacked my stuff and arrange my room, which by the way I didn't need his help cause I was a big girl now. But he insisted, saying that it could be a start of a father and daughter bond.
"At least try to be excited for me.'' Dad sighs while pouring coffee in his "I'm SUAVE" mug. Oh god, my dad was one of those 'trying to be cool oldies'. "On the bright side, people of Paradise are very friendly, one step on Paradise high and everyone would come frolicking to your side, trying to be your friend." Dad smiles at me, maybe he want to assure me that it wasn't a bad idea living with him for a year.
Letting out a sigh, I smile at him. "I hope so."
Grabbing a toasted bread and bacon on the counter I saw Dad grab a set of keys in the island. "Well, what are you waiting for?" He grabs his mug and downs it in one gulp. Yikes, that must have burned.
Grabbing my bag on the floor, I walk towards the door. Dad was still getting his things for work and double checking that the windows were locked, after all those he went out, lock the door and head towards the truck with me following him.
Dad’s house was two storey and was painted ocean blue and white picket fence is surrounding the house. The porch had a wing set for which I totally dig and is my second favorite part of the house since I can eat and read a book there, but nothing will even beat the backyard. It is the best part of it all, behind the house is a huge forest and behind the forest were mountains! I swear my jaw dropped when I saw it from my bedroom window.
Last night before I went to sleep, I just stared at the green lush. Such mesmerizing view.
"So Ivory, heard that you liked to write." Dad starts the conversation.
"Yeah," I pause looking at the red light turn to green. "I used to work at the school paper in my old school. I was quite a hit." I brag.
"That sounds really good," He turn the radio on and a soft country music starts playing in the background. "You know, Paradise High has a school paper guild, you could always try out." He suggests. My ears perk up at hearing this.
Now that sound interesting. "I'll think about it." Maybe my stay here won’t be that bad.
Then we fell silent and I started humming to the song. We came to a stop and a Ferrari stop beside us. Woah, didn't know Paradise was crawling with rich kids. I look out at the window to see the driver looking at me intensely.
My mouth went dry.
Oh my f*****g god! He was the epitome of gorgeous! Can such person exist?
Dark forest green eyes, strong jaw that had a tint of stubble, perfect nose and midnight black hair that reached just above his eyes. And he was staring at me. I was in a daze, it was like it was only me and him against the world, I could stare at those green orbs for days.
Snapping out of my daze, I look at my Dad to see him talking to himself- or maybe to me.
"- I hope you really have a nice stay here." Dad says nervously. The car starts to move again and we pass by a large building. He nudge his head at the direction. "Heard too that you like to read." He states, it was like he read my profile or some sort.
"So?" I trail off.
"That's the library, has every book you could find!" Oh, now Paradise starting to grow on me. By the looks of the Library, my Dad was not lying. After a few minutes we came to a stop at a huge red brick building. People were milling in and out of the entrance and cars were being park. "Well, here we are. Text me if class is done." Nodding my head, I hop off the car.
"See ya dad." Waving my hand I head towards the entrance, damn was this school big. Hope I don't get lost on my first day here. I turn back to see Dad's truck rolling away. I was about to turn when a familiar Ferrari drive slowly at me, like it was assessing the place. Weird. But I don't mind, the driver was a HOTTIE.
Letting out a sigh, I walk towards the school entrance.
Here goes nothing.

One word to describe my mood: Pissed.
Why? Well first of all, I got lost finding the front desk, meaning no schedule, no map, and no locker! Second, people here needs to learn manners, were they born to push, shove, elbow, and hit people? Third, my math teacher is a d**k. Period. Fourth, everyone looked at me like I was some kind of freak, what? Don't they get new students? Lastly, I lost my lunch money and I am hungry.
Still fuming, I walk towards the cafeteria. Great thing I kept some coins on me or I would die from starvation before school ends.
I was counting my coins when suddenly a big ass guy hits my shoulder without even saying sorry which then made me release my lunch money!
Fuck me sideways! Can this day get any more annoying?
Dear lord give me strength to not kick that douchebags ass. I look at the offending person to see blue jeans hanging off his ass, a black plain shirt that is too big for his skinny ass frame and red converse.
In the f**k is he wearing?
Crouching down I grab the fallen pennies. Ugh, I miss my old school and the familiar people.
As I was about to grab the last penny a very big ass foot stomp on my hand.
"Son of a b***h!" I curse and quickly cradle my throbbing hand. Looking up I saw that the abuser left without out apologizing. Again! What the hell is up with the people in Paradise? The legit have no manners at all. "Jack ass!" I scream, making some students look at me weirdly. Well that will be added to my list on "First day of school and I'm pissed!"
Grumbling to myself like a mad woman, I venture again to the cafeteria. I could already smell the grease of the food and I'm not complaining since I’m hungry as hell. After entering the double door, I quickly fall in line and thought of what to buy with the money I have.
"Next." The cafeteria lady screams at no one.
I scan the counter and everything look disgusting. Corndog, mashed potatoes, sandwich and boiled egg. What the hell, where is the meat?
"I'll have the corndog and milk please." She hands me my order and I give her my pennies. Giving me a weird look I ask: "What? Never seen a penny before?" And with that I turn and look for a table. Well it looks like I just made enemies with the lunch lady. Better bring my own lunch next time.

The food lunch was a complete waste of money. The corndog, it tasted like f*****g flour! My stomach is still grumbling, asking for food. After finishing my lunch and looking at people, I decided that I should head to my locker then to class.
Turning the combination, I stuff books after books and grab the things I needed.
"Hey there! You the new girl?" I turn to see a handsome guy walking towards me, two of his friends were at his side. They were both handsome too.
"Uh, yeah." I sling my back pack and was about to walk away when he grab my arm and drag me closer to him. "Hey, let go!" I try to pull away, but he stops my attempts.
His eyes were assessing me, like he was stripping my clothes one by one with his eyes. I could feel shivers racking my body but that didn’t stop me from giving him a glare.
Typical jocks and their crazy hormones. "You are one-" He trails of with suspense. I thought he was going 'hot' or maybe 'cute' but what he said not only shock me but also his friends. "-ugly piece of shit." He smirks at me. If this is his way of getting girls, then I think girls are crazy in this town.
"E- excuse me?" I ask, dumbfound.
"You heard m-" He wasn't able to finish. Because as his words registers in my brain, I did one thing that my mind told me to do.
I punch him square in the jaw. And it hurt like a mother fucker.
"What the f**k?" He holds his jaw. "Did you just hit me?"
Trying not to show my pain, I raise my fist. "Yeah, got a problem?" I ask. I now have both my first raised and was doing this weird punching move. I was punching fast at the air.
"You just made a very grave mistake." His blue eyes blaze with fury. "You are-" Then I did it again.
I punch him again, and this time I could feel my bones cracking with the impact. Well that is a bit exaggerated but it still hurts.
Not a bright move.
"Chris! You okay dude?'' One of his friends ask.
"Do you look like I'm okay? Get her! Let's teach this little spit fire a lesson." Without a second they lunge at me and me being me, I ran like a lunatic. My arms were up in the air and I was waving it like an i***t while running for my life.
People of Paradise are very friendly. Friendly my ass Dad!
