Alison POV
After bathing and grooming, I went downstairs to get something that was obviously mine. I knew Eiden had kept the book Bastian gave me, and it was most likely hidden somewhere in the house, and I wanted it back.
There were so many things to learn that I didn't even know where to start, but that book was, and I needed it to survive the next thirty years of my life. Or as long as I get to live.
"Bastian?” I asked in a whisper.
But when I go downstairs and reach the first floor of the house, I heard murmuring near where I was, and timidly approached the place where that sound came from.
It was a small room, where I could see Eiden sitting annoyed in front of a couple of men, shouting too many things at him that I didn't understand. But I still decided to stay and listen.
