I didn't want Eiden to be killed.
"Forgive me for not knowing how to protect you.” Eiden apologized to me.
"I know I'll be fine if I stay here." I whispered, trying to reassure Eiden about this situation.
"I don't understand Alison, what changed?" he asked and looked at me: "what made you change your mind?" he asked.
I pressed my lips together and looked into his eyes, as I took his hands in mine.
"When I was alone in that place, I remembered Jake, I remembered how much I fought with him because we always traveled so much and we could never stay in one place" I muttered: "I never had a home. And when I was here, every time Bastian took care of me and every time you sat and talked to me, I... I felt like I really mattered and that I was in a place where I could belong.”
