“How come you not gain any weight?” My mum asked after serving me a heap plate of scramble egg, bacons, baked beans and toast which enough to feed one hungry guy. I ignored my mum comment and start indulging. It has been 2 month since we move to this city. My mum manages to curb her alcohol addiction and start working in diner. I am glad she decided to leave her habit after coming to this city. Well, if it is not because I have to smack some sense into her head about turning a new leaf. She seems happy here. Meeting some new friends and earning some money for us to live by. City life not bad at all she said. All her life she is being stuck in the shithole town. Changes make her new persons. A mother I wish I had growing up. She becomes furious when I decided to take part time jobs over the weekend. She wants me to focus on my study. Well, I secretly manage to work as part time catering server for my personal side income.             “What u smiling about?” She said as she poured me a refill coffee.             “Nothing. School stuff.” I replied as I sip the coffee. She sits across me as the diner is not really busy at the moment.             “Don’t you have any classes today?” she asked.             “I do. 10am.” I replied short as I hurriedly try to finish the last food on my plate.             “What’s with the rush? It is only 8.30.” She said as she glances over diner’s clock.             “I need to meet with my partner for group assignment by 9 at library. I need to get there early because I don’t know who he is.” I replied.             “How come you don’t know who he is?” She raised her voice. It was loud enough to make few customers turn toward us.             “Geez mum. Calm down. It is just an assignment. He was absent on last class. I didn’t manage to know him.” I explained. She looks calm a bit. I understand her. The last time I got close to a guy, bad thing happen which lead us here. “I just know his name and phone number from his friend.” I remember when I ask his phone number from one of the guy in my class. He only hangouts with the guys. Apparently none of my female classmates knew him. And I almost laughing my ass of when they tell his number is repetition of 4, 1 and 2. What a weird dude. “Ok I get to go now. Bye mum.” I give her a peck and run towards the door.             “Don’t forget to buy some toilet paper on your way home.” She reminds me. I just give an Ok sign and run to catch the bus.             “Dude sure is late.” I mumbled as I look at my phone. 9.45 am and he is still not showing up. I gave up waiting for him. I need to go to class. I leave library while dialling his number. It was ringing. As I exit the library door, I bump into a guy.             “Oww... Watch where u going dude.” I told the guy while rubbing on my head.             “Sorry. I am in hurry.” He replied while trying to catch his step. He tried to reach for his hand phone and I noticed my number was on his screen.             “Wait. Are you Ian Anderson from Mrs. Darlene class?” I asked him.             “Yes, that’s me. How did u know my name?” He asked and was shock when he sees me.             “The f**k! You are the college-loving dude from orientation week.” I exclaimed.             “Come on! I have a name you know.” He said as he reaches his hand for a shake. I accept his handshake. Then I squeeze his hand tightly.             “You know how long I have to wait for you here? Do you think you some kind of royal prince? We are about to do group assignment ya’ know. How would I trust a dude that can’t even come on time for discussion?” I nagged nonstop at him. A bit annoyed with his nonchalant attitude. He winces in pain then I loosen my grip. He starts rubbing his palm slowly.             “I am sorry. I have family emergency this morning. I’ll make up to you. Can we start discussing our assignment?” His voice so mellow thus calms my anger a bit.             “I have a class now. I’ll text you when I am done. And sure as hell you are going to buy me lunch sir!” I said with authoritarian tone.             “That settled then. I’ll meet you at Danny’s then. Miss...” He said while smiling.             “Ivy” I replied             “Ivy. Make sure u don’t be late ok.” He smirked.             “Done deal!”
