Cameron nodded, and to demonstrate he scrambled down the stairs backwards as fast as he could go. Jason wasn’t far behind, and they closed the door behind them. Cameron gripped the wall as he made his way into his bathroom, groping for the lights. His dark skin was already bruised; it would only look worse with time. Well, it wasn’t like he had anyone to impress right now. Still, he hated this visible sign of his own weakness. Jason appeared in the doorway, holding up a bag of frozen peas. Cameron had forgotten that he had it in the freezer. “This should help with the swelling,” he said. “Not an order, just a thought. And, uh, you might want to lie down for a bit.
