Chapter 6: Into Oblivion

It was cold. Too cold. The sound of skittering rats and buzzing insects filled my ears. I felt weighed down like I was under water. Is this a dream ?. I don't remember falling asleep though. What happened. Oh yeah, dinner with Sher and her mum. Mmm Mac and cheese. Chicken ?. Warmth.So how am I cold.

Oh God. It hit me. The food, feeling disoriented, falling. The voices. Sheryl. What did the voices do to her and Mrs Adams ?. Where were they ?.

I opened my eyes. Total darkness. I was chained by my ankles to the wall. My feet were numb. It was no wonder I couldn't feel the cold shackles. This was bad. Ok be calm. You have watched and read a lot of k********g movies and books, you can escape this. Bringing out the spare hair pin I keep in my hair, i feel for the chain lock and set to work. The lock clicks and I'm free of the chain. Yes !. I know watching break in videos would come in handy one day.

Just then the door opened. f**k. The lights were turned on. I was blinded for a second before my eyes adjusted. A man wearing yellow gloves and black goggles walked in and I covered the open lock with my hands. He spoke.

"Your a smart one Luna. The only one to get out of the chains with the drug still in their system."

My name. How did he know I had gotten the chain off. The f**k was going on.

"Your confused and in shock. All right, you get to ask me 3 questions. I'll be your genie for a minute."

He smiled. Looking around I noticed that the walls of the room were solid concrete. No cracks or holes only a vent in the ceiling maybe to let air in since there weren't any windows. Chains hung from the walls. A lot of people must have been in this room once. The thought made me shiver.

I think of questions I could ask to get me out of this mess.

"Why did you kidnap Me ?."

Chuckles are all I hear before a voice.

"Everyone asks that right before they beg. We took you so that you could participate in an experiment but to be less formal we call it a game. A game of survival."

Ok there's more of this guy. Maybe a cult or gang. A game but what for. I mean they could use rats or mice so why take humans. What was the point.

"Why take people instead of using animals for this game ?."

He tapped his child and put a hand through his brown hair.

"Well the experiment is done to know the survival rate of humans against humans.This is the last phase so we can have concrete evidence and move on. You have 1 more question."

Move onto what. I had to use my last question wisely. My eyes land on his goggle covered ones pleading.

"Where is Sher and her mother ?. What have you done to them ?."

Goggle man looks away but steps closer to me asserting his power.

"I can't, no I won't tell you that. You're in for a big suprise. Maybe later. We need to move you now. Your actually pure. Guards !."

I panicked. Leaving the chains behind I run towards the door but 2 men come in almost immediately. I look around. No other way out. I was trapped.

"Sedate her and take her to her new room so that we can commence."

The men stepped closer caging me in. One caught me. He was so strong I couldn't break free but I struggled until I felt a sharp sting in my neck. Spots dance in my vision. I see one of them holding a needle. Everything was fading.

"N..no." I slumped.

It all turned black.
