Everything I thought I knew came crashing down the moment I saw her. I never would have guessed that I would've had a mate. But here she was standing in front of me. Her beauty radiated off of her and the years of life I hated flew out of my mind and all I could see was our future together.
“Who are you?” Her soft voice filled my ears and danced around my mind. I could listen to her talk forever.
I went to respond, but Tobias cut me off, the world around me came back into focus as the severity of the situation came crashing back. I watched as her hand shook, pointing further down the trail. And just like that, Tobias was gone in the blink of an eye, not giving me the chance to process anything that was happening. I went to run after him, but my father grabbed my arm.
