Chapter Thirty-Three

1336 Words

Delilah’s POV “Someone is lying to us all.” The words Tobias boomed at his mother echoed around the room. We were surrounded by an eerie silence as we waited for Luna Sarah to answer. “Wait.” I could see the gears turning in her head. “He’s alive?” She whispered. “You don’t know?” Tobias snapped. “I can tell you what I do know.” She walked across the room, finding a place on the black leather chair next to the desk. Tobias moved from me, taking the office chair sitting behind the desk, and motioned me over to him. I gladly took advantage and sat down on his lap. “Now that you are… comfortable,” She scoffed. “25 years ago you were born, as you know. But what you don’t know.” I could hear her voice starting to break, she was starting to sound like she had a frog in her throat.
