A door banged open, banging against the wall. I nearly jumped out of my skin. Silence overpowered the room as Sheriff Estep made himself a part of the scene. The officers with the Tasers didn’t flinch while Jacob and the woman faced the sheriff. I watched from my spot, knowing the sheriff was about to explode. I’d witnessed it over the summer.
