Chapter Twenty Two

1301 Words

Killian's POV: I stood by the window of my room, with a heavy robe draped over my shoulders, and the chill of the night brushing against my skin through the cracked windowpane. I swirled the dark wine in my glass, watching as the liquid caught the moonlight, glinting like blood. My mind was a storm — one I had no intention of quieting. The creak of the door pulled me from my thoughts. I didn’t need to turn around to know it was Varian, because his scent already filled my nose. “It’s done! "Just like you ordered, the van was ready,” Varian said smoothly, his voice filling the room. “She also transformed, went rogue just as you said, and she’s now chained in the cold room.” I let out a slow exhalation, feeling the tension roll from my shoulders as I finally turned away from the window.
