Alyssa's POV I stood there for a moment, letting the silence stretch between us. Cole shifted awkwardly, his eyes darting to the floor and back to me. For some reason, the tension, the guilt written across his face, the way his shoulders stiffened as if carrying an invisible weight—it all suddenly struck me as funny. A laugh escaped my lips before I could stop it. Cole’s brows shot up in surprise. “Why… Why are you laughing?” He asked, genuinely confused.
