The Next Morning

**Rune's POV** Rune woke with a strange feeling. A feeling that told her that her life was about to change. She didn’t like that. She lit her favorite incense and candles and played her favorite binaural meditations. As she sat quietly in pose, letting everything go, she felt that familiar feeling of self-mastery settling in, and she smiled inside. This was her time for clearing energy of clutter and discerning direction. Thirty minutes later, Rune felt at peace with life, and in control again. She thrived on a sense of control over her destiny. Her passions dictated it, and she would fulfill it at all cost.  Back at the university, the outdoor courtyard was bustling with students, professors, study groups, and people just mulling about, being social. It was a beautiful fall morning. The colors of the season, vibrant and rich, filled Rune’s senses with child-like wonder for the beauty of nature and its mysterious glory.  She wondered, as she people watched and sipped her coffee; how many people stop to think, feel, and experience life on this level? Her coffee; a rich French roast, with deep, dark chocolate undertones and a pinch of cinnamon, melded with the fragrances and colors of fall. It was this intricate understanding and relationship with her world, often left Rune feeling isolated from others. This ability to experience life with such depth, as systems working in tandem, often prevented her from relating to anything simplistic. Unfortunately, that meant people, too. “Hey! Hellooooo!”, a rude hand waved in front of her face, ruining her symphony of the senses.  “You’re having coffee without me. I thought we discussed this.” Sam grabbed her cup as he sat down next to her, confiscating her moment and smiling as large as life. “That’s rude!” Rune went to grab the cup and Sam pulled it further away. Damn his long arms. And his smile. She nearly growled at him. “You said we would have coffee later this week.” His raised brows were less than impressive. “That was last night!” Rune bellowed, completely infuriated. “So, it’s later in the week, isn’t it?” Sam chortled, knowing that he was goading her to absolute frustration. “I have class in ten minutes. Give me my coffee and I’ll have coffee with you right now.” She glared at him with purposeful intent. “Oh no. You’re not getting off that easy. I don’t have any coffee, and I didn’t take you for this one. Nice try, bookworm.”  Sam was challenging her at primal levels. “Fine. Friday at 11:00 am, but you can’t approach me or speak a word to me until then!” Rune stood up, grabbed her coffee, and tried to kill him with her glare.  Sam smiled, rubbed his jaw, and squinted as if she’d punched him. in that perfectly square jaw. “Screw you, you arrogant bastard!” Rune snapped and stormed off.  Sam smiled, satisfied. It was the kind of smile that says, I've got her right where I want her.  Rune Rune couldn’t focus to save her life. Her day was typical after the Sam incident, which was comforting, although a little annoying.  Her time at the library was uninterrupted, thank God. Sam wasn’t there.  Good, maybe he realized how angry she was.  Dammit, she thought, I cannot afford this kind of distraction! The next evening, she arrived at the library and Sam was in his usual spot. They exchanged glances and he smiled but made no move. Damn, she’d forgotten to tell him he wasn’t allowed to smile, either. No, that would have completely given her away. She walked past him with purpose and went to work, channeling her anger and forcing him out of her mind.  She was successful, and relieved. **Sam's POV** Sam sat on the other side of the main library area, working on his own research. He would steal glances to see what Rune was up to, and didn’t like what he saw. She hadn’t glanced at him once, that he had caught. Then, as if on cue, another guy walked up to her table and sat down. Sam had everything he could do to stay put, and not literally choke the man out of existence. Damn if she wasn’t a bit too calm, cool and collected for his taste, tonight.  To Sam's relief, the dude didn’t try to talk to her, nor she, him.  Nonetheless, he was doubting how far under her skin he had positioned himself. It had been a long time since he had been undone by a woman, if he’d ever been undone at all. As far as he could interpret his feelings, no woman had incited this level of emotion in him, before. He might be young, but he was no stranger to experience. And although he knew Rune was by no means typical, he doubted her resolve to get rid of him, no matter what came out of her pretty mouth.  Sam’s frustration went straight to his c**k at that thought. Her pretty mouth.  He strode from the library and headed home. Lying in his bed, he took his well-endowed member in hand and started stroking it, thinking about what his nine inches would feel like, buried balls deep in Rune’s sweet p***y. God he wanted to touch and taste and f**k her. Who was he kidding, he thought. He wanted to OWN her. He wanted to kiss and lick and suck and touch and finger and f**k her, anytime he wanted to. On demand. He thought about tying her up with silk and forcing her to c*m for him over and over again; his hand moving faster as he wondered if she would squirt for him the first time he buried his fingers in her wetness, stroking her g-spot with determined strength, her juices flowing down his hand with his lips and tongue locked on her swollen clit, bathing it in ecstasy as her legs shook uncontrollably.  It was enough. Rope after rope of hot c*m bolted from his c**k, aiming for his broad chest as it heaved....body curling up in automatic response to the violent release. Sam lay spent, panting, slowly calming down, pretending it was her mouth and small fingers soothing him. He had to have her. Needed her. And she had to be his. Only his. What he wouldn’t give to have her wrapped in his arms at this moment, to show her what she means to him. Despite his large frame, Sam curled up in a ball and slept, feeling an intense need to curl himself around Rune and protect her from anything that would interfere with his love for her. **Rune's POV** It was Thursday morning and the sun shone through Rune’s window like salvation. The brightness blinded her, but the warmth wrapped her in an inexplicable energy that she just wanted to bask in. Like being held in the safest, most secure embrace, wrapped up and loved. Thirty seconds later, the alarm clock ruined the moment and she was forced into gear.  It was another brisk, fall morning, and Rune sat in the courtyard once again, soaking up the sun as she saw Sam approaching. There was a lighthearted energy in the air and Rune was enjoying the atmosphere, but from the look on Sam’s face, she could tell that that was about to be ruined. He had such a smoldering, brooding demeanor. It made her wonder what his past had been like. Sam sat next to her on the ledge of the courtyard fountain and looked at Rune with purpose in his eyes. “Good morning, fair lady.” He smiled. “Good morning, Grumpy.” She chided him, knowing she was baiting him. Wait. Was she flirting? “Grumpy? What makes you think I’m grumpy?” His surprised tone took Rune back a few steps.  Huh. Maybe he doesn’t know how brooding and smoldering he is. “That look on your face when you strode over here…it was grumpy.” Rune almost chuckled. “That was not grumpy. That was focused. Forgive me for not being all ‘what a beautiful day, like you, flower child.” Sam's sarcasm was in full force.  Okay, so he had his game on this morning. “But it is a beautiful day, don’t you ever stop to experience the moment and appreciate things exactly as they are?” “Oh, I do plenty of that, trust me.” His smirk of amusement was genuine, but Sam was on a mission and he was paying no attention, whatsoever, to anything around him, but Rune. His focus was disconcerting, she decided.  “Coffee?” He asked as he reached for her hand. She nodded and took it, feeling his strong fingers fold into hers so naturally that it sent a shiver up her spine. He made their way to a small coffee house at the corner of the courtyard and led Rune to the back of the cafe, into a corner booth. Rune’s alarm bells started ringing, but more out of her own nervousness than fear.  He motioned for her to scoot into the corner booth and then he rounded the table to the other side and slid in next to her. He took her hand again under the table. Rune’s entire being was lit up to the point of being uncomfortably aroused. What the hell was happening here? A waitress approached the table and set a menu down in front of the seeming couple. Is that what they looked like? A couple? Rune started to fidget a little and Sam just smiled and chuckled. “What kind of tea do you like?” Sam gave her hand a squeeze and smiled that devastating smile, while she tripped over her tongue again. “I’m not a connoisseur of herbal teas. Do you have any recommendations?” Rune let the words tumble out of their own accord with another nervous laugh, knowing damn well she knew exactly what kind of tea she liked. But hell if she could think of the name of any of them at the moment.  “How about Chamomile? It has soothing, calming properties; well known for its relaxing effects.” Sam’s gaze was locked and loaded on Rune and all she could manage was a nod.  Sensing her nervousness, Sam traced her jaw with his finger as if he’d done it a thousand times, and Rune swore his eyes glazed over as his stare fell to her lips. Little did she know that in his head, he had done it a thousand times. Her whole body was trembling. They’d met up in the courtyard not fifteen minutes earlier! How on earth could such palpable desire be brewing between them already? Her thoughts raced, trying to make sense of the moment, and she missed it entirely when he ordered their drinks. She looked at him with what must have been a questioning stare because he squeezed her hand just a tad harder and let go of it, only to splay his hand at the small of her back.  She felt his warmth, and then the devilish hand circled her waist, fingers digging gently, as if gripping something he felt very possessive about. As the thought came, his hand gripped and pulled her yet closer to him. They were hip to hip, leg to leg, his arm about her, her right breast pressed against the left of his chest;  her composure... nearly shattered. Her breathing hitched, and she felt dizzy. Why was she letting him do this? She looked down at his hand, now gripping her waist, and noticed that his fingers were trembling. Thoughts and emotions raced through her brain.  What should she do? She scrambled in her mind to gain control of the situation. She must have seemed as though she would pull away because his hand held firmly, and she felt his lips at her neck, and then her ear. “Please…relax into what you’re feeling. What we’re feeling.” The words had barely left his lips before his free hand gently cupped the side of her face and turned her eyes to him. He stared into them with the hunger of a predator; but he touched her with the firm and gentle possessiveness of a man in love. Rune didn’t know whether to panic or melt, but she couldn’t discern what she was afraid of. Was it him? Was it how fast things were moving? Was it the way he made her feel? Was it the fact that she already wanted him; that her body was bending to his will without her permission? Or was it all of it? She knew that her eyes were betraying her as they stared at one another. There was no way he wasn’t detecting the desire burning through every shred of decorum she had. Her breathing was getting heavier.  She was at a loss for words, and suddenly, he leaned in…lips less than a millimetre from hers, and a low, growling whisper escaped his lips. She could feel the air current between them, it was so heady with s****l tension that nothing else in the world existed. “Don’t fight it. Let it happen, Rune. Everything happens for a reason.” Before she had a chance to respond, his free hand cradled the back of her head and his lips brushed hers with a recoiled urgency that shook her. Thoughts and questions of what she’d gotten herself into slammed into her...but his lips. Oh my god.
