Chapter Six

Bust Your Kneecaps played softly as Zoie hummed along and took small steps. She smiled joyfully as she walked down the man’s small apartment as he hid. Knowing where the man was hiding, Zoie entered his bedroom.    “Evan, I thought we were having fun.” Zoie called out.   Evan hid under his bed as he stared at Zoie’s black heels. The date started out simple with them meeting at his apartment and eating a bit. Evan pretended to want to know more about Zoie to cover up the fact that he simply wanted to hook up. Everything was going fine until he closed his eyes to kiss Zoie and opened them to see her staring back at him with black eyes. As he ran, Zoie had managed to send a knife flying his way.   He was apprehensive.   “I know what you did and I know who you are.” Zoie tauntingly revealed. “Don’t try to scream because no one will hear you.”   Zoie shook her head before looking under the bed. Her eyes landed on Evan who laid there with wide eyes. She smiled at him softly and winked.    “I’m so sorry for what’s about to happen.” Zoie said with a sigh. “I hope you don’t scream as much as the last one.”   Evan took a deep breath as the tear fell from his eyes. “Why are you doing this?”    “Shhhh!” She hushed. “No more questions or tears, only dreams.”   Without saying another word, Zoie stood up from looking under the bed. Evan realized he was unable to run so he laid there and pressed his eyes shut. Abruptly, he was hauled from under the bed and let out a snort. As he opened his eyes to look up at Zoie, he was shocked to see most of the knives from his kitchen floating in the air next to Zoie.   “No one likes rapists.” Zoie muttered. Before Evan could speak, Zoie sent each blade to his body. He groaned and shouted out in torment as she remained there with a little grin and hummed a melody. Blood splashed onto Zoie's cheek yet she didn't move. She just kept on looking as the existence left Evan's body.   Simone sat on the couch eating a bag of chips and snickered at the show she watched on TV as Kira paced the living room. She had no clue where Zoie had been but she was worried - not for her sister but for everyone around her. She tried her hardest to find Zoie by tracking her however it appeared as though Zoie had figured out how to hinder Kira from her psyche.   “Relax! She’s grown.” Simone said.    “That’s not the point, Simone. She’s practically a serial killer!” Kira hissed.    “She’s not that bad yet.”    Kira scoffed. “She killed her boyfriend, her best friend, and tried killing me.”   Simone sat there for a moment and thought before nodding her head in agreement. “Okay, you’re right.”   Zoie pushed the way to her loft open making Kira and Simone run towards the passage. They heaved at Zoie's appearance, realizing that she had guaranteed another casualty. Simone held her hands up in guard.   “This has nothing to do with me.” She announced before walking back to the living room.    “Who was it this time?” Kira asked.    “A rapist.” Zoie answered.    “Do you not realize that you will get caught?” Kira asked. “How stupid could you be!”   “Stupid as fuck.” Zoie teased.   “I’m glad to see that you find this to be hilarious because it isn’t! You’re killing innocent people!” Kira exclaimed.   “Innocent?” Zoie yelled causing the television to shut off.    “Hey! You f****d up the tv!” Simone yelled from the living room before shoving the chip in her mouth.    “None of the people that I’ve gotten to were innocent. I don’t kill innocent people!”    “You think Chris and Phoebe deserved what happened to them?” Kira asked.    “Absolutely!” Zoie responded. “They deceived me!”    “They didn’t deserve to die, Zoie!” Kira shouted.    Simone walked over to the two arguing sisters and sighed. “Yeah, she’s right. You could’ve slapped their asses around.”   “Exactly!” Kira agreed.    “Hell, you could’ve even pinched the b***h but killing isn’t the answer.” Simone finished. Zoie’s body language changed as she turned her head at her sisters. Kira groaned as Simone sighed heavily.    “Zoie?” Kira warned.    “Aw hell!” Simone mumbled. “She’s turning her head so she’s about to do something. Listen, I’m the normal one so don’t touch me.”    “Who said I needed to touch you?” Zoie shot back.   “The hell?” Simone asked in a high pitched voice as she looked at Kira.    “Stand down, Z. I just want to make one thing clear, if you kill again then I won’t hesitate to take you down myself. I’m not going to allow you to hurt anymore people even if they’re criminals themselves. It isn’t your place and never was.” Kira threatened.    Zoie smiled. “Well get ready then.”    “What?” Kira asked with a scoff.    “I’m going to miss you when you’re gone.” Zoie stated before pushing passed her siblings and walking towards her bedroom.
