Bad influence

654 Words

“Is this the first class you skip?”   Eric laughs at my question. “Not really.”   We remain in silence again and pretend that we’re actually paying attention to our books and notebooks.   I take out my cellphone from a pocket of my jeans and start checking if everything is fine. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have battery.   After saving the phone again, I decide to have an actual conversation instead of using the spare time to do homework.   “Have you skipped another class this year?” I ask just loud enough for him to hear in order to not be taken out of the library.   “Yes, those times when I suffered panic attacks.”   “Well, that was for your health. Have you ever skipped class just because you wanted to?” I insist with a raised eyebrow.   He lowers his gaze to his lap. “No.”
