Present day__
Cure.
Irene Carter.
Demi gaped at the screen. Arrow who had stayed over, was also frazzled.
It had been a few hours since the whole world has seen the interview.
Arrow frowned.
'No way this is real.'
Alex was still asleep. Demi has told Arrow to move her to her bedroom. Demi had also ordered a pizza to avoid any future arguments. Arrow recorded the whole interview for Alex to watch later on.
'Why is everyone so quiet?'
Arrow and Demi looked around to see Alex stretching her arms above her head.
Alex was confused by their expressions.
'What did I miss?'
Just then, the system alerted them that someone was at the door. Alex grinned.
She rushed to the door and came back with 3 pizza boxes. She sat on the couch between Demi and Arrow. She gave them a box each. Arrow looked at her warily and started the recording.
Not even 5 seconds into the interview, Alex started talking with a mouthful of pizza.
'Oh, I know her. She's that girl from the science research centre. Irene was it?'
Demi was surprised. Alex has never mentioned her.
'Elaborate,' Arrow ordered.
'Met her about a decade ago. She seemed...interested in me.'
'In what way?' Arrow asked suspiciously.
Alex shrugged.
She looked over and noticed that Demi was pouting. She started laughing.
'Don't worry. I was outta there before she put 2 and 2 together. She could've had me...' Alex ran her finger horizontally over her neck and made a dishevelled noise. Demi shuddered.
They continued watching the rest of the interview. The 'cure' was basically a long term elixir. It'll stop the chips from working at all. Hybrids were expected to have the same life expectancy of humans after they've taken it.
After the recording, Demi and Arrow looked over at Alex. She didn't seem frazzled by the whole thing. She was down to her last pizza slice.
'So...?' Demi asked.
'Good for her,' Alex mumbled.
'GOOD FOR HER?! LEX, THIS COULD BE THE END OF US!' Demi cried.
'Not necessarily a bad thing...' Arrow muttered. Alex was about to agree but Demi glared at her.
Alex chuckled. 'Don't worry. First of all, I don't think they'll be able to force hybrids to take that thing. And the humans will riot if they try. Imagine how much money their businesses will lose without hybrids. We don't even know whether that cure is finished or not.'
That stopped Demi from freaking out in the meantime.
'Ya reckon that thing will work on you?' Arrow asked.
'Depends, if she might've known that I'm a Red. Maybe she kept it a secret at the time. God bless her for that.'
Little did Alex know, she was the key for the Cure.
