Present Day It was the big day. He would finally put all what he learned into good use. 'Ace, you should really take it,' Harley suggested. Ace looked at her happily. His eyes were a brilliant bright green. He shook his head gently and proceeded in adjusting his tie. Unsuccessfully. Harley has been trying to get him to take his elixir all morning. He was headed to a job interview, since he got fired from the last one. It was something about blowing up a microwave...  'They would get a tad annoyed with your attitude.'  She started fixing up his tie. He furrowed his brows. 'Do you have a problem with my attitude when I'm...you know?'  She looked at him then looked down at his tie. Ace's brows cut closer to his eyes. 'Oh, please do tell,' he said sarcastically. Harley sighed. 'Listen, all I'm saying is, people tend to get really annoyed when someone takes everything lightly. That's all.' And as if to further prove her point, Ace's eyebrows were in a neutral position, as if the whole conversation never happened. 'Ace! See? This is what I'm talking about. Be. More. Bothered. At least a little bit. This is important to you right?'  'Yup. Very,' he said as he nodded. He tried to frown but couldn't get himself to do it. 'Alright, I get what you mean,' he resigned. He made his arms hover uselessly towards Harley.  'Just do it,' he mumbled sadly.   Harley filled the syringe up from the bottle then stuck it in his arm. He watched the bronze liquid make its way through his veins. A minute later, his eyes were back to their normal stormy blue. He was also back to his grumpy self. He closed his fist and stretched his arm a couple of times before the liquid wasn't visible anymore.  'Well, Good luck!' Harley encouraged as she handed him his bag that contained his screen and documents.  'Bye babe,' he waved as he walked out the door. Lets get this over with.
