CHAPTER 10
Hope raised her head to check on the storm. The black sky was a massive vortex traversed by electrical charges. From time to time, a ball of lightning would appear and explode beyond the hill, shaking the ground further. She closed her eyes and let her mind fly away past the clouds, out of Eron’s solar system, travelling the universe at the speed of thought, reaching the opposite end of the galaxy. Then, abruptly, she slowed down, circling something massive, floating in the darkness of outer space. She lingered near that unsettling shape and felt that this was where her destiny awaited her. But the fear of seeing more paralyzed her and, in an instant, her mind was violently slingshot back to her trembling body.
