Chapter 13

648 Words
Cosmo’s POV It’s been two weeks since the incident occurred. I have not been going to work, and I decided to go take out all the s****l frustration on Rachel. I don’t like this girl, but she is more than willing to be of service. I have been dreaming about Cleo since that kiss. I try to imagine her when I am f**king this brunette. That slender girl with the softest lips and pretty brown eyes had me losing my sense. I have NEVER even thought about someone for more than two minutes, but she got me thinking about her every second. F**K. This girl is probably using black magic; that’s the only explanation. I have done two freaking background checks on her, but nothing. She must be very good at hiding her tricks, which is why today I am meeting with an old friend of mine before I go back to the city. It’s now ten p.m., and my parents must be up already; I must get going. I went downstairs and found Mom setting the table. "Son, you are going without food?" My lovely mother asked. "I am meeting Steve at a restaurant, so I will eat there." I kissed her cheek. "Bye. Tell your father that you are leaving then." I saw Steve already sitting, and I approached him. The moment he saw me, he smiled and stood up. "My man." He exclaimed as we hugged. We haven’t seen each other in years; we are both very busy. "Old time friend, you have gained a lot of weight." I teased as we grabbed our chairs to sit down. "Being taken care of by someone you love does this to a man." He says it with a laugh. "When are you settling down, mister rich man? You ain’t getting any younger." "You are sounding exactly like my dad; what can a handsome guy like me need to settle down for? I mean, so many women want my undivided attention." "Ha,ha. You will never change, will you?" He said this while gesturing to the waiter to attend to us. "What can I say? Women love me, and they worship the ground I walk on except for one." I cleared my throat when he narrowed his eyes at what I said at the end. That’s when the waiter attended to us. "Good evening, my lords. What can I get you this fine evening?" He asked while taking out his notebook from the front pocket of the apron. "Sandwich and a glass of blood, please." Steve replied. "Medium-rare steak and a glass of blood." He wrote and excused himself. "Repeat the last two words." "There’s this woman I think might be using black magic on me. That girl is not threatened by me, though she is a human; I mean, I am a king’s son and am feared naturally." He was listening attentively, but I could tell he wanted to laugh. "A human who is a witch?" "I know how it sounds, but maybe she is really not a human." I reasoned. "How did you come to this conclusion, first?" "This girl talks to me anyhow; she is always on my mind, and I keep dreaming about her." It was like I had set off a bomb. He just started laughing hard at me. "You are drawing eyes to us, idiot." "I am sorry, my lord, but it seems like what you are scared of is happening." I narrowed my eyes at him to explain, as I couldn’t get what he was trying to say. "You are failing in love." For the first time ever, I felt my cold heart pound faster; fear was taking over. I looked at him in awe. "Are you kidding me? Me in love? NEVER. Especially not with a human, dad would die of a heart attack." I ran my fingers through my hair.
