Chapter 17

Rachel’s POV

It’s 6 o’clock in the morning and I am heading to bed when I remembered that I need to talk to father about something real quick. I put on my gown and went to his study, I didn’t even knock I just went inside.

“Good morning, daddy.” I displayed a huge smile on my face, whatever that I will ask from him I have to get.

“Morning my princess, shouldn’t you be sleeping now?” He answered without looking at me, sometimes I feel like he always know what I am up to but he chooses to let it be since am his precious daughter. His one only child anyways.

“I will but first I needed to ask something from you.” That’s when he raised his eyes at me with a knowing expression on his face. That was a “go ahead ask” look.

“I want to go to the human city.” He immediately shook his head.

“You know you are not ready and besides to do what because you are not working.”

“Dad, I am old you know that. You can’t keep me under your watch forever besides I will be married to Cosmo who stays with humans so I have to be ready then. I will be attending business parties with him as his wife, you don’t want him thinking that you raised just a house wife.” I insisted. I want to make sure that he doesn’t come up with any excuse to try and stop me from going because I am going to go whether he likes it or not.

“When?” He said defeated. That’s it daddy dearest. I love the man.

“Tomorrow.”

“I will have to talk to the clan leader tonight then, for now go to sleep.” I quickly ran to his side and gave him a hug from behind.

“Thank you so much, daddy.” I kissed his left cheek. “You also have to go sleep.” I said making him smile and he nodded.

I can’t keep up with tiredness anymore, I will have to call my friends when I wake up tonight and tell them about our mission, the PI that I hired to look for Cosmo’s stupid human lover hasn’t gotten back to me yet but that won’t stop me from going to the city and find this girl by myself.

I woke quite late today, it is 10pm at night. I reached for my phone on the side table and scrolled through w******p for the group chat.

Ladies-me

Hi, girl, you sure had your beauty sleep today.-Jase

Say it again. What’s happening today? - Rose

We are going to the human city in the morning.

What!!- Rose

Yay! An early holiday. - Jase

I didn’t know we were allowed there since we have no work there - Jase

You clearly underestimate my power. Stick with me and I’ll take you places. Let me bath and prepare for our trip, be ready girls. Bye.

And after talking to them I googled a sweet morning text and copied and pasted it to Cosmo. My man. I pull off the blanket and went to the bathroom.

The night went by so quickly. It was one 2am and I was driving to Rose’s place where I will be picking up the two of them. I parked out the gate and honked to indicate that I have arrived. I saw them coming out of the house with their suitcases and smiled. They putted their luggage in the booth and got inside.

“Why are we even going there?” That’s the very first thing Rose asked the moment she got inside the car.

“I thought you always wanted to see the city.” I said starting to drive.

“I know but this is such a short notice and too good to be true.” They were both sitting at the backseat and saw her doing eyes at me through the internal rearview mirror.

“ Okay fine there’s something.” I said defeated, it’s now or never.

“Of course, I knew it.”

“Can you just shut up and listen to her.” My cheerleader Jase spoke for the first time. As much as Rose is evil just like me, I prefer Jase more as she would do anything for me without asking.

“Remember the girl that Cosmo is in love with?”

“No, no no and no. You are not.” She howled.

“ I am not going to do what? So you think it’s okay for her to steal my man.” I reasoned.

“First of all he is not your man, he doesn’t even want to marry you. You have a list of men wanting to be yours but then you are obsessed with this Cosmo.” She said annoyed. I still don’t know why I have kept up with her stupidity, she always has to challenge me. i***t.

“Don’t bore me Rose, you can never compare those douchebags with Cosmo and besides I didn’t say I was going feed on that stupid human. I will just visit my man and introduce myself as his fiancée to her, that’s all.” I smiled at myself.

“We both know that is not true. Great, my first murder case. I am so screwed.” She said and we just busted out laughing at her. She has a big mouth but she always does as she is told.
