Every move she made, they followed her like silent, watchful hawks, their presence a constant, irritating hum in the background of her life. It felt absurd, suffocating. The most unsettling of all was her head bodyguard, GABRIEL McLennon a man as stoic and impassive as a block of ice. He moved with a robotic precision, his gaze unwavering, always fixed on her. He was a constant, silent presence, a living embodiment of her lost freedom. Even her moments with Miguel, were tainted by his watchful eyes. Their privacy, a precious commodity, had vanished.
Then, the unthinkable happened. An incident, swift, left her father teetering on the edge of death. In the ensuing chaos, Maria was kidnapped, snatched from the very heart of the fortress her father had built around her. Fear, cold and sharp, pierced through the numbness.
