Edward was seen commanding his soldiers and apportioning them to strategic positions in the kingdom. Just then the Queen rode in with the king's brother a and two other soldiers. "Welcome her majesty" he greets as he bows slowly. The Queen climbed down careless of the soldier before her and makes way into the palace. Edward tries approaching her making sure all protocols are observed. But the queen refuted him with anger assuring him she has the right to go anywhere anytime she pleases. He was left speechless and returned to what he was doing. In came the princess as they stole a warm romantic glance at each other. "her majesty" Edward greets in a calm and confident voice. "Sire" the Princess replied unable to help but admire the heavily built soldier, tall and strong looking. Edward and princess Ariella have been having an inexplicable chemistry going on but none has been bold enough to speak about what he or she felt. They only look at each other and sometimes find themselves laughing at each other even without either of them saying a word. Edward approached the king to tell him about the queen flaunting his rules, he was met with a Stern look from the queen as many things went through his mind. He knew the kind of person the queen was and didn't want to get on her wrong side if he wanted to live a day longer. "Long live the king", Edward knelt and greeted the king. "How's the plan going, Edward"? , The king replied while receiving a glass of wine from a servant. "Do you have any challenges or something you would rather love to share with me?". Mute for some seconds, Edward said rather in a voice struggling to find it's confidence." We have the situation under control my king" . "Very well then, I guess there's nothing to worry about?", The king said as he gestured Edward to rise. The queen gave him an uncanny smile as Edward excused himself from them. Edward looked troubled as he walked pass princess Ariella who noticed the unusual look on his face as he greeted her this time with a serious tone. She followed him and tried to engage in a conversation with him. She sought to use this as a way of getting a conversation with him on personal issues outside official matters. "What troubles you mister?" , She asks as she walks up to him. "Nothing my princess, I'm only worried about the kindgom and it's safety" he replied trying to avoid a direct look to her face. "I'm sure you'll get it sorted out as you've always done. Don't let the burden of the kingdom take your Life. You sorry more than the king" she said while pulling off a comforting smile almost as if she was so sure of what she said. "I'll stop being worried when I know that you and the kindgom is safe my lady" he replies now in a more comfortable voice. They had so much to talk about in the cool and friendly night. Edward was finally able to reveal his worries to her . They found themselves talking like they've been doing that a long time when it was actually the first time. Edward got to tell her about the king's orders and how the queen had disobeyed these orders and he couldn't do anything about it or tell the king as it might be his end. He didn't want to reveal to her that he suspects the queen was behind the troubles and plot to dethrone the king as he feared the princess might reveal it to her. "I think you need to get inside before your mother takes my head" he joked . "Oh it's a very long night and no one takes your head without my permission" she replied him as they both laughed together. Edward lifted up his eyes and was almost in shock when he saw the queen looking at them from the palace sit-out. He Immediately began to wonder how long she has been there looking at them and became uncomfortable with the conversation. He swiftly stood up like he saw an intruder and asked the princess to excuse him as he needed to attend to palace duties. "Edward, is everything alright?" The princess asked him as she stood up as well and looks around trying to find out what was happening. By then they queen had already gone inside. "No, my Princess. I just remembered I have an incomplete task ordered by the king and I'm expected back in few hours with report of the task. Please forgive me but I must go" he said as he hurriedly left the princess. she felt so bad as she wondered if she said anything wrong to have caused such a sudden change in his actions. she thought they were having such a wonderful moment together and she was beginning to wish it never ended.
