The Escape

Princess Ariella saw a little Nerxes boy limping out from the woods and decided to check up on him. Just as she was about touching him, the mother came out and confronted her warning her never to touch her son or come close to him. She explained she only wanted to help and nothing more than that.

“Hey, I just wanted to help him” she said.

“We don’t need your help and please stay away from my family you perverts” she took her boy and started walking away. “Go back to your Paradise and leave us alone”

Just then Edward approached the princess and saw the look on her face.

“Is anything the matter my princess” Edward asked as he comes close to her.

“It’s nothing, I’m fine” she answered.

“You don’t look fine to me, talk to me” he insisted.

Just then she started sobbing as she puts her head down.

“Why do they hate us so much?”. She raised her head and continued “I understand that most of them were unfairly judged and badly treated but believe me if it were up to me I would have done something about it”

Edward drew her close to himself as she was almost in tears.

“You are a good woman Ariella, they may not see it now because of how angry they are but someday they will get to see that” he caressed her hair “come let’s get inside, it’s getting dark”

Princess Christine was growing so beautiful and strong. Every young man wanted her for how beautiful she was. She often went to the river when she was not practicing with Edward or doing and chores at home. She had an amazing voice and would always sing to the birds and sky. Whoever goes by the river at such moments wouldn’t want to go anywhere till she stopped singing. Eben would always wait her by the road and try talking to her. Many times she avoided a particular road because of him. Eben was a mean and arrogant Nerxes boy who caused trouble in the community. He had tried a few times to get physical with her when she had refused talking to him or following him but was always unlucky. It was a cool evening and princess Ariella returning from the river when she bumped into Eben.

“Good evening sire” she anxiously greeted.

“Hello beautiful, you look so beautiful today” he spreads his hands “ why don’t you give me a hug?”. He pulls her towards him but she wriggling away from his grip.

“No one is out here so I suggest you cooperate with me” he attempts to hold.

“What do you want from me, let go off me” she shouted as she struggled to free herself from his grip. She hit him so hard in his balls and made for the run. By the time he got to his feet, he went after her and ordered the two boys who followed him sheepishly like he was some king to catch her. The princess let out a loud shout and just then Edward was already worried and had started looking for her towards the river. He heard the loud voice which looked just like the princess' voice and called out her name.

“Princess Christine, is that you?” he called out as he moved towards the direction of the voice. When the men discovered that someone had come for her, they knocked her out and one of the boys carried her by his shoulders and moved quickly away from that location.

When Edward got to the point he initially heard the voice, he saw no one but there was a sign of struggle and tracks leading away fr the arena. Edward bring a clever huntsman and soldier was pretty good at uncovering tracks and tracking movements. He quickly followed the men and tried to catch up on them. Because they carried the princess and so was not fast enough for Edward, he caught up with them .

“Hey, let go of her right now” Edward shouted at them. Just then they dropped her and stood to challenge seeing that it was only one man.

“How stupid of you to think you can stop us three” Eben smiled “I have been waiting for this day, to show how much I hate you and your b****y royal friends and today will be your last and I will take this beautiful lady all to myself without paying a dime. And there's nothing you or anyone could do to stop me"

“You will do no such thing. I do not want any troubles, just hand over the princess to me and no one gets to know about this. We go our separate ways like nothing happened”. Edward pleaded.

“of course nothing happened, I will make sure of that. What are you waiting for , get me his head!” he ordered the two boys with him.

Edward was a skilled swordsman and an expert in field combat. He was very careful not to kill any of them but they were badly injured due to the aggressiveness with which they attacked him as well as their frustrations for not landing a single strike. Eben seeing that he and his men were being outmatched and beaten, he thought of another way to get rid of Edward. Immediately he killed the two boys with him and ran off to tell everyone he and his friends had been attacked by Edward.

At last the kingdom have seen a reason to eliminate Edward and his companions. The soldiers were asked to arrest Edward and bring him into the prison where he’ll await his prosecution. Unknown to Edward, he had been branded a murderer and angry mob was coming for him. Just as he approached the kingdom with Princess Christine , he saw the soldiers angrily coming after , he then knew there was trouble but couldn’t abandon the princess to run for his life. He surrendered and followed them back to the kingdom. He was tied and beaten up to confess to a crime he didn’t commit.

According to the law of the Nerxes, anyony who commits murder will be killed by hanging. Princess Christine wasn’t aware of what happened as she was unconscious at that time but could remember being attacked by Eben and the two dead boys. Her story didn’t make sense enough as there was no reason for Eben to kill his two best friends just to frame Edward for doing so.

Neo did all he could to save Edward but majority wanted him dead and everything he did just to find a fair trial proved abortive. Against his wish, he convicted Edward and sentences him to death by hanging the following morning. Princess Christine and princess Ariella were heartbroken and broke into uncontrollable tears. Neo couldn’t sleep all night as he knew that Edward didn’t deserve to die but he couldn’t find any evidence to judge otherwise.

Later that night princess Christine and her sister decided to release Edward and make for the run. They laced the food and drinks meant for the soldiers. And few minutes later , they were all fast asleep. They got the keys and unlocked the cage where Edward was held but he was reluctant to go with them.

“What are you two doing?” Edward questioned them with a huge worry all over his face.

“We can’t let you die for doing absolutely nothing” they untied him and tried to pull him to his feet.

“Do you know the consequences of what you’re trying to do, you will be in trouble when you’re caught” Edward said.

“It doesn’t matter anymore, we’re already in trouble. You can sit here and lecture us on what is right or wrong or stand to your feet this minute before the guards realize what is happening” Ariella said to him now in a meaner voice.

“Oh no, what have you done?” he immediately stood up and they ran into the woods. Just then another soldier was on a parole and noticed the soldiers on prisoners guard were fast asleep on the floor. He tried waking then up but they grudgingly responded. He then noticed that the guard room was open and went inside but the prisoner was gone. He raised an alarm but they were long gone.

Neo came out and pretended he wasn’t aware of the situation meanwhile it was his plans and he directed the princesses on what to do and where to go.

“Search the woods, bring them to me” neo commanded.

The soldiers went out with their hunting dogs in search of Edward and his companions.
