**Lily’s Challenge at School**
Lily had always loved art, but not everyone at school appreciated her talent. Samantha Green, the most popular girl in her class, constantly made fun of her drawings.
“Still wasting your time with doodles, Lily?” Samantha sneered as Lily worked on a new painting in the art room.
Lily clenched her fists but didn’t respond; she knew that arguing wouldn’t change anything.
That afternoon, as she packed up her things, she discovered that her latest sketch had been torn in half inside her locker.
Her stomach sank. Samantha and her friends must have done it.
Lily took a deep breath. “I’m not giving up,” she whispered to herself.
**Noah’s Unexpected Friendship**
Meanwhile, Noah was struggling with his own problems. A new boy, Ethan, had joined his class, and for some reason, Ethan always seemed angry.
During recess, Noah found Ethan sitting alone on the swings, staring at the ground.
“Hey,” Noah said. “Want to play soccer with us?”
Ethan glared at him. “I don’t need your help.”
Noah was taken aback but didn’t give up. “Okay, but if you change your mind, we’re playing on the field.”
As Noah ran off, he wondered why Ethan acted that way. Maybe he had a reason.
**An Unexpected Turn**
The next day, the school announced an art and science fair where students could showcase their talents.
Lily hesitated—what if Samantha ruined her work again?
On the other hand, Noah decided to pair up with Ethan for the science project.
To his surprise, Ethan agreed.
Over the next few days, they worked on their experiment together. Slowly, Ethan began to open up.
“I just moved here,” Ethan admitted. “I hate starting over.”
Noah smiled. “I get it. But maybe this place isn’t so bad.”
Meanwhile, Lily worked even harder on her paintings, determined to prove herself.
On the day of the fair, Samantha tried to ruin Lily’s display, but this time, Lily stood up for herself.
“I don’t need your approval,” she said firmly.
For the first time, Samantha had nothing to say.
**A New Understanding**
By the end of the fair, Noah and Ethan had won second place, and Lily’s artwork received praise from both teachers and students alike.
Samantha approached Lily and, for the first time, didn’t make a mean remark.
“Your paintings are actually really good,” she admitted.
Lily smiled. “Thanks.”
Noah, meanwhile, had made a new friend.
As they walked home, Lily looked at her brother. “I think we both learned something today.”
Noah grinned. “Yeah. Sometimes, you just have to give people a chance.”
