The rain had stopped sometime before dawn. The only sound left was the slow drip from the gutters and the occasional soft shift of bodies in the bed. Zoe woke first. The door was unlocked, just like she’d asked. The key still sat in the lock, turned the wrong way. Ryan’s arm was heavy across her waist.
