Hope: Simple Love

Chapter 10

"You took weeks to say thank you," his statement was sarcastic but his voice was serious.

He moved his lower body, leaving a space in the backrest and his back. Our knees are now touching because of his long legs.

"I even gave my card to your friend."

His hand go to the corner of my lips. He gently removed a piece of my hair that's stuck on my lips. I blushed at his soft moves.

"Ah.. I'm having a second thought, if I.." I tried to move my head away from him and look at the our other two companion, but he also tilt his head to block my vision of them, "If I'll call you or just visit you personally."

His eyebrows went up. His eyes shined for a second in amusement. He then moved his body away and seat back on his seat. Just like how he seat infront of me. His legs are widely open making our knees to touch. His elbow was in the armrest in between us. His head was turned to me. His face was saying his in deep thoughts.

I don't know what happened on that expensive car but the drive went smooth. Alpheaus was just sitting beside me, sometimes quite. Most of the time, he started a small conversation by asking some curious questions about me. I answered his questions with honesty. I didn't gather my power to asked him a question that I already read in internet or in magazines.

Because of that, I became comfortable and abit calm on talking to him. Though I can still hear my heart beating loudly, my nerves are not trembling anymore. We both cheered our wine glass and drink while talking casually.

Archius and Lynangel was in their own world. They are discussing some work related but they were also laughed and joked most of the time. I get embarrass while watching them because their voice were all over the car. Maybe that's why me and Alpheaus were just talking on a low voice.

After more than an hour, the limosuine stopped. I looked at the window and saw lots of small ships and yachts parked in the sea. If I am not mistaken, it's a port.

The door beside me opened, and the one who welcomed me and Lynangel, smiled at me. He then stands besides the door. I gather my purse and moved my body to stand when Alpheaus holds my arm. I stop standing and look at him curiously.

"Let your partner escort you, darling," Lynangel's annoying voice speak.

I looked at her who is now sitting alone. I saw a door that's opened on Alpheaus side. Archius was already outside and offer his hand to Lynangel. She winked at me and slinged her purse on her shoulder. She got up and immediately accept her boss' hand.

I pout abit and look at Alpheaus. He was looking at the door beside him to be free. I looked at his hand on my arm and sigh.

"It's fine if you don't escort me out," I shyly said.

He just glanced at me. The corner of his mouth rise for a second that I almost missed seeing it.

"You're my date. It's natural to escort you."

I blankly look at him. I remember how his hand were on the back of his dates on pictures in the internet or in the magazines. If he wasn't holding them at their back, his date's arm was always hooked on his. That images put needles in my heart.

He moved and went outside smoothly. The man who opened the door beside me, bowed and close the door. Alpheaus extended his hand near the door. He was holding on the car's roof while peeking inside and encourage me to accept his hand. I sling my purse on my shoulder and accept his hand.

A cool salty wind greeted my face. The concrete ground we were standing was surrounded by small ships, and after those ships, a dark calmed sea was seen.

Lynangel's giggled make me come back to my senses. I coughed once and blushed. When Archius and Lynangel started to walk, we started to walk too. Archius hand was on the back on Lynangel. Alpheaus hand was holding mine liek how he holds it when I went out on the car.

I looked at my partner. He was looking at the floor like he was finding something. It was not dark though it's past nine already. The whole concrete place was lighted by big posts with big lights.

"Are you looking for something?" I asked him instead of wondering.

He glanced at me. He moved his hand from my hand to my waist. He pulls my body a little bit, enough to make my shoulder to lean on his chest.

I was about to asked him what he is doing but I heard a soft squeal from infront of us. We both look away at the same time.

I saw a small figure that started to run towards us. She was wearing a cute expensive above the knees dress. Her short bllak hair was like a feather blew by the wind.

"Alt! Oh myy gosh, you are really here. Long time no see," she went over to Alpheaus as if she didn't see me.

I took one step backward and cling to my small purse. I watched them talk as if they haven't seen each other for a whole year.

Alpheaus introduced me to her. She was quite friendly but I don't like the look n her eyes while talking to me. So instead of adding a new topic, I just smiled and answered simply to her questions. She guided us to the yacht where she came from.

Archius and my dear bestfriend are no longer in my field of vision. I looked around for them but stop when Alpheaus was surrounded by men and women the moment we set foot at the deck. It was like a magnet who magnetized sand the moment it passed at them.

Few of them asked for selfie or a 'hi' to its video or live on a social media. He did all those for not more than twenty seconds. It looks like that he was so used to it and already know how to dealt it faster.

The view from the deck is magnificent. The lights from that are connected to the railings gives a cool and calm ambience. Added to the salty and strong wind as the yacht started to roared to life.

It is a typical party for the rich people. There is a famous DJ on top manipulating the looud sound and light on the yacht. It was lively but unlike the medium average bar or party I attended with my classmates or co-workers, this is kinda boring.

There is a mini pool in the middle and lighted with different colors. It was tempting but only a few people was there. And they are not taking a swim even tough hey are also wearing a swimsuit, but just dipping their feet while having a drink.

All people who attend can be seen in magazines or in somme commercials in television. I recognized some of them as a VIP client of the bank I am working so I got into a little conversation about it. There is also some people leaning on the railings while having a drink and looking serious. Is this even a party or some sort of a gathering?

Lynangel was not the typed to stay here, I wonder where is that girl. The yacht was big but not that big to not see each other.

"Do you want to swim?" Alpheaus leans his head near to my ear and whisper in a very low tone, nakiong his voice sounds hoarse.

I looked up at him. Even though I am wearing a heels, my head was just over to his shoulders. So if I want to look at him in the eyes, I need to lift my head. I smiled at his a bit serious face. His eyebrows are almost touching in curiosity. His red lips looks redder now that he was drinking alcohol.

His eyes was reflecting the moon's light perfectly. He looks so handsome that even though there is another gorgeous man surrounding him, he will undoubtedly over passed them. Reason why most of the women we talked tried to flirt to him and take him away to me. It was really a good thing that he rejected them by putting his hand on my back and he will lean his head to my ear, just like now.

I glances at the two girls who are looking badly at me right now. If this was my first time, I will blush and get nervous just like earlier when he did this gestures infront of a supermodel. But now, I get his idea even though he did not tell me anything.

I turned and leaned my head near to his ear and whispered, "I'm fine," he tilted his head and nodded then go back to talking to the girls who lost their smiles and interestt to flirt to him.

I was sipping on my cocktail alcohol drink while Alpheaus was now busy on talking to a middle age man about some business. His hand was resting on my back. I can't really take everything serious since his hand was almost occupied my whole lower back. He sometimes caressed my back with his thumb, and everytime he did that, my body froze and I will straighten my back.

Alpheaus, being a gentleman, never leave my side for more than five minutes. He introduced me to his friends as his a friend. And to not bring any embarrassing moment for him, I did my best to smile to every one of them. It took us more than half an hour, and there is still people who walked to our side to introduced herself or himself or just a friend who came by to say hi and wanting to start a conversation with him.

Soon enough my feet started to feel uncomfortable. If Alpheaus was not holding my back, I'm sure I will stumble right now. I put down my empty glasses on the small circle table infront of us.

Shall I excused myself and went to bathroom? But I already went to the bathroom for the third time. The last one was just five minutes ago. If I will excuse myself, it will be rude now.

I looked at Alpheuas and to the one he was talking to. Looks like their conversation will take awhile. I should've said I wanted to rest when he asked me to rest earlier. I sigh. I don't have to be regretful now.

I lifted my right foot to rest it from the ground for a minute but I doing that some of my weight transfer to Alpheaus, making him glances at him. I smiled shyly and put down my foot.

He leaned his head to me again and whisper on my ear.

"Are you tired?"

I looked up at him and smiled shyly again. I nodded my head slowly. He nods his head too and turned to the guy he is talking.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Gomez, but my partner is tired, so if you will excuse us," he was supposedly sound polite but why does he sound ordering him?

I hope the guy infront of us didn't take it offensive. I looked at him but he was smiling like he was watching a funny show.

"Haha, I'm glad that we talked about the project now. You may go and I hope you will continue to take care of your girlfriend. Most successful man said woman is a lucky charm to a man."
