Chapter Two

“Shouldn’t you have done that back at the house?” I asked Ash, still sat in the car, half an hour after arriving, watching her apply her make-up. That was one of the many reasons why I was glad to be born a boy. Why can’t women just be happy with the face they’re born with? “Shut up Kyran. It’s called reapplying. Makes it look fresh” she smiled smacking her lips together to distribute the gloss she just applied. “Don't care, can we go in now?” I asked. I just wanted to get pissed. “Yeah! Let’s get this Party started!” “No screaming yet, Ash we’re still in the car” I grumbled before getting out of the car, locking it and starting towards the open front door. I could hear and feel the music from my car and I was itching to get in there. Already, my bad mood from today was easing as I walked towards the kitchen, grabbed a beer and sat down on the chair. Ahh, this is the life. I let the music sink into my system as the alcoholic beverage in my hand corrupted my system. I could feel the tension in my body let up as I joined the dance floor. I lost Ashley the minute we stepped through the door and it was very unlikely that I would be seeing her till tomorrow in school where we would both be sporting a very malicious hangover, but who cared. I swayed to the music, dancing with nobody in particular. I whooped when everyone whooped and sang along to the music at the top of my lungs. I took another swing of my bear to find that it was finished, so I extracted myself from the mass of moving bodies and started for the kitchen again. There was a drinking contest in the dining room. Some people were having s*x and making out on the corner. Eww! Straight people s*x. I made a gagging noise in the back of my throat and turned away from them, only to spot a familiar hulking figure in the back yard on his own leaning against the porch. For the life of me I didn’t know why, but I found myself moving towards him. My blood rushed to the beat of the music and I just stared at his muscled back that was well outline by the shirt he was wearing. He was very attractive. Wait no. No, he wasn’t. He’s my enemy, yes. Soon, I was close enough and his scent wash over me. For one whole minute, all I could do was just stand there and bask in it. it was intoxicating. Damn it Kyran, snap out of it! s**t. What the heck was wrong with me today? “What are you staring at?” just like this morning, a hot shiver ran its way down my spine and to the tip of my toes, curing them in my trainers. Jesus Christ his voice was sexy. s**t. I was way drunk if I thought his voice was sexy. Yes, I was drunk. Of course, I was drunk; I am at a party that has more drink than a liquor store. Yup. Definitely the booze. “What’s it to you?” I hissed, going to stand next to him against the other side of the porch. “So, why are you out here, when the party is in there?” I asked pointing behind me. “What? Because I came to the party doesn’t mean I have to be in there!” he barked at me. Geez. “Gods, what crawled up your arse and died over and over again?” “What crawled up your arse and died” he hissed back. “What? Did you lose your little blonde? Maybe I’ll go find him later and show him what’s like to be with a real man” I said with a smile when I notice that the blonde was nowhere to be seen. Did they even come together? “What do you do my leftovers now, Thompson?” he snarled. “Watch your gob Williams, you know I had him. You have nothing on me” I hissed with a fist full of his shirt in my hands. I didn’t even know when I closed the space between us to speak to him. “Oh, you’re that confident, aren’t you? You really think you could take me on?” his smile was calm and collected and I suddenly felt like an i***t for losing it over something so trivial. I mean I’ve been insulted before. “I can take you on and you know it” I gave a wicked smile as I let go of his shirt and a wave of his scent assaulted me. I bit back a moan and blamed my reaction on the alcohol. “I bet I could even make you fall for me” I smiled like a cocky brat. “Could you now?” he asked raising a brow and I suddenly felt angry again. He was trying to stare down at me when he only had inches on me. “What you don’t believe me?!” I asked him as he turned away from me. The heck is with that reaction. He just shrugged his shoulders at me. “Fine then. I’ll make you a deal” I had a feeling I was going to regret whatever I was going to say next in the morning, but I was far too gone to care. “Give me till the end of the semester to make you fall in love with me. And if you don’t, I won’t try to pick up any of the guys at school or even in town till we graduate” I smiled satisfied with myself. He looked at me for a few minutes taking a swing of his beer. “Well then, deal. If I make you fall in love with me, you stop trying to pick up the guys in town and if you make me fall in love with you, I’ll do the same. Nice deal” he smiled a kind a smile that said he had something up his sleeve. This was the point when I could have back out, but of course I was drunk. So instead, I smiled and nodded, before raising my hand for a handshake. “Let the game begin!” he smiled taking my hand in his slightly bigger ones. I felt a shiver of excitement course through me at the feel of his hands. For like the hundredth time in one day, I bit back a moan. “Let the game begin!” I chorused with a smile. I pulled my hand out of his very warm one reluctantly and turned to back to the kitchen for that beer. “Thompson?” I heard his voice and stopped. For some reason, he never used my first name. When I turned, he was right there, and I stumbled back a bit at his closeness. Before I could catch myself, his arms wrapped around my waist, steadied me and then he was kissing me. Immediately his lips touched mine, I shot hard as stone and a moan slipped out before I could check it. Jesus Christ, but he can kiss. Within seconds, his tongue was in my mouth and I found myself writhing against him, wanting to be closer, deepening the kiss. Just as my body pressed flush against his, he pulled away from me and I whimpered. I actually whimpered. s**t. I was usually the one making people whimper and here I was ready to come from just one kiss. “I look forward to this game of yours. It looks like it’s gonna be fun!” he smiled then walked away. Oh god what in the name of hell have I gotten myself into?
