Chapter Six

“Hey grandma!” I smiled as I picked up the phone. My grandma was the light of my world. Aside from my friends, my grandma was the only person who under stood me. She knew how my parents treated me and hated it. She was rich and really powerful but she more of the behind the scenes kind of woman and once asked to move in with her. She asked me to move in any chance she got but I wanted to finish high school here. She had a big house somewhere in New York and it was quite away. “Hello handsome. How are you doing? I got news that your parents were going home. Have they arrived? Are you okay they didn’t do anything did they?” she fired questions at me and even though I hurt everywhere I could help but chuckle. “I’m fine grandma. They didn’t do anything” I felt bad lying to my grandma, but I knew that she would most likely hire assassins to kill my parents if I told her what happened. “Anyways, is it true that dad got fired?” “Oh, it was spectacular!” my grandmother loved to gossip. “He was caught in his boss’s bed with his wife!”. I talked with my grandmother for the remainder of the afternoon. I was skipping school today to give my injuries time to cool down, so people don’t ask too many questions. Only Ash knew that my parents sometimes got violent with me. It also looks like my dad is back to stay. When I woke up this morning, he was sat at the island sipping straight from a bottle of vodka. I had immediately gone back up to my room fully intending on skipping breakfast, but my stomach was quick to remind me that I hadn’t eaten anything since lunch the last day at school. So, I had immediately checked my injuries to make sure they were okay before putting on a hoodie and jumping out of my window. I had walked to convenience store around the corner from my house and bought one of those readymade foods. I wasn’t low on cash because my grandmother always put some in my account every month. I was eating it up here on my bed while debating whether or not to call grandma when I heard the door bang shut signifying that the dipshit had left the house. Sighing, I switched off my television that had been since last night when I turned it on to drown out the sound of my dad swearing in his room till now before turning onto my least injured side and trying to get some more sleep. “You look like s**t!” Ash bellowed when she saw me walking into the school. “I feel like s**t” I replied not stopping to give her a hug like usual. My sides were killing me, and I just wanted to sit for a few minutes or centuries. “What happened? Don’t tell me that ass shat-” “Ash, not right now” I cut her off as I exchanged my books. When I was done, started for my first period leaving her fuming at my locker. She was like my grandma and the last time my parents came home forced me to stay at her house. When I got to class, thankfully no one was in there yet. I took my seat at the back. I sat here just so that I could scope out all the good-looking guys in the class and sexually harass them and also because my biology teacher was a witch and had a seating plan. Ha. Dropping my bag, I lifted the side of shirt to check on the bandage I put on my side to see that the inquiry from my dad’s kick had reopened and was now soaking the bandage. It wasn’t this bad when he kicked me, but I must have moved wrong in night that why it split. My sheets were soaked this morning you would think I was a girl on her period who forgot to use tampons. I stopped poking the injury and dropped my shirt as people started pouring into the room. Like always I tuned out what the teacher was saying for the rest of my classes till break. Although I was laid back in school, I was one of the school’s top student, I just had this thing where I remember things I’ve seen or heard so when it’s time for my exams or test, I just scan the textbook or something and I’m set. When the bell went for break, I rushed to the boy toilet. I know Ashley would be on the hunt for me to ask me what happened and promptly move me into her house, so I was avoiding her. Plus, I needed to redress my side. I might be gay, but I was still the man. To prove it, I winked at the new blonde and smiled in satisfaction when he blushed to the tip of his blonde hair. I turned my head away from the blonde I spotted Hunter striding towards me with determined steps and I remembered the bet. For some reason unknown to me, my heart picked up when he smirked at me and I picked up my steps practically running into the boy’s toilet. Just as I was about to shut the door, he was there pushing and keeping it open. He shoved it back and my injured and aching arms couldn’t keep up. He quickly walked in and closed the door behind him, locking it. All of the stalls were open so there was no one in the toilet with us so I took a few steps back from him. “You weren’t in school yesterday” “Really? I didn’t notice, thanks for pointing that out!” I hissed at him before turning my back on him and making for the stall furthest from the door. “Thompson you piss me off” he whispered in my ear grabbing my sides roughly to stop me in my tracks. Effectively digging his fingers into my injury making me cry out in pure pain as tears sprung up in my eyes. I definitely shouldn’t have slept on that side thinking it was the least hurt. My brain didn’t even register the shivers that shimmied down my spine from his voice. “What the f**k!” He took his fingers from my side and I could see there was a smudge of blood on it. Thank God I was wearing a black shirt. I shoved away from him trying to get away from him, but he grabbed my wrist making me wince. The bruise on it was gone but it still ached. In fact, I should have skipped again today. “what the hell is going on Thompson?!” he asked looking from his blood smudged fingers to me. I schooled my features not to show how much pain I was in. “Piss off” I said giving my arm another hesitant yank with clenched teeth. “As if! This is blood!” “f**k off. I can f*****g see that dipshit!” his eyes travelled to my side before he stepped closer to me till he was right in my face and simply tugged my shirt over my head. It happened so fast I just stared at him trying to figure out what just happened. “Who f*****g did this!” he yelled in my face looking at the blood-soaked bandage wrapped around my middle. All the other bruises had already started to fade. “None of your business!” I yelled back grabbing m shirt back from him and gingerly putting it back on. “Thompson you-” I cut him off by grabbing my bag from where I dropped it when he grabbed me, unlocking the door, walking out and slamming it in his face. I turned towards the exit. I knew my dad was home because when I was leaving this morning, he was passed out on the stairs with a bottle of vodka in hand, but I would rather risk that. I was only a few steps away from the toilet when my bag was grabbed roughly, and the person started yanking me and my bag back in the other direction. I turned around to see Hunter looking pissed as f**k with eyes set ahead. Not even turning around. “What the f**k is wrong with you. Let me go fucktard!” I shrieked at him, but he just ignored me and continued to drag me along with me. Finally, I got tired and just followed him. “Where are we going?!” “Nurses office. That needs taking care of” he said it in a soft voice that had me hard as stone instantly. What the hell is wrong with me!
