Veronica's POV.
The bell rang signaling the end of 6th period. Everyone got up and started to leave. Me included. Maybe if I stayed in the middle of the crowed, I could get out of-
"Veronica, you still have detention." Miss Rivers said.
Damn! She's good.
"Can I go get my bag?" I asked. Maybe she'll forget I-
"You have your bag. Nice try though." She answered.
"My friends laughed as I went to sit down. "Bye Veronica. See ya later miss Rivers!" Assholes.
I started to pout. Maybe she'll be nice and let me play my phone. I took it out and had just started playing temple run.
"Put it away." Or not.
I sighed and put my phone away. "What can I do?"
"Um. You can sit there. Or you can help me hang posters and staple worksheets." She answered.
Hmmm. Sit away from her and do nothing. Or be close to her and hang stupid posters. Easy answer. "I'll help!"
"Okay. What do you want to do first?" Miss Rivers asked.
"Uhhh. Posters! I choose posters!" I said. I gotta stop making a fool of myself.
"Okay. Here. We're starting off with world war 1, so hang these." She handed me some posters.
Ugh. Boring. Even the posters were boring. As if she could read my mind, she looked over and smiled.
"We'll be acting out in class. So don't worry. It's not all boring. I hate text book work." She smiled. God. She's beautiful.
"What do you mean 'acting out'?" I asked.
"Life half the class will be one side of the lesson and the other half will be another side." She was having trouble hang a poster so I walked over and held it for her. She smiled and said a quick thanks.
"Oh. Ooo! Ooo! Can I be a leader when we do The Civil War?" I asked exited. The Civil War was my favorite. Oh. Is she talking to me. "I'm sorry?" Stupid thoughts.
"I said, we'll see. It depends on how you act in class." She said.
Well. There goes that. I looked up at the clock. No f*****g way! It had already been 20 minutes? Awe man!! That meant I only had half an hour with her. Now I'm sad.
"Well, that's the posters." She said. "Think you can stay after again sometime during the week to help me out again?"
Hell yes! I would stay all month and help her out! Is what I wanted to say. Instead I said, "yeah sure. If that means I get to spend more-" I stopped. There I go, voicing my thoughts again. If she caught what I was saying she didn't hear me. "Um.... Yeah.... I can."
Katie's POV
Maybe asking her to stay again was pushing it. Oh well. To late now. "Great. How about again tomorrow. And then again on Thursday or Friday?" I asked.
Veronica smiled, "Yeah sure. Tomorrow and Friday. Thursday's not a great day for me."
"Okay that's fine. Got a hot date?" Why did I ask that?!
"Nope. I wish." She answered.
I don't.
"Well how about we do the worksheets and I'll let you go?" Not that I wanted to let her go already. That was just and excuse to get closer to her.
"Okay." Veronica smiled. She has the most beautiful smile ever. I smiled back.
"Oh so, so, so, so boring!" Veronica yelled. She was refuting to the tests I had on my desk. That I forgot to hide. Oops.
"Trust me when I say, I know right. I wouldn't make you guys do them. But I have to give them to you once a month to see where you all stand. Sorry honey." I said.
"It's not okay!" Veronica pouted.
It took all my self-control not to lean over and start sucking on her lip. I must have been staring because she looked over at me with a smirk on her face. I smiled and she smiled back.
Veronica's POV
No! Stupid clock go back an hour! Or two! We were both grabbing our stuff to leave. I sighed knowing my mom was outside waiting for me. "Bye Miss Rivers." I said.
"Bye sweetheart. And thanks for the help." Miss Rivers said.
I don't know why but I had the sudden urge to hug her. So I did. I walked over and threw my arms around her. She hesitated for a moment, then hugged me back. We leg go of each other after what felt like forever and smiled at each other.
"See you tomorrow sweetie." Miss Rivers said.
"See you tomorrow Miss Rivers." I said walking out. I could not stop smiling. Best. Day. Of. School. Ever!
