Sanin started to remember the time when his journey began. He lived in a small village with his father, mother, and younger sister. His village was mostly rice farmers but a select few were chosen to guard a relic that contains great power. There had been over the years a few bandits and mercenaries that have tried to take it but all failed. The relic was a small golden statue of a dragon with shiny jade eyes. No one knew what was the power of the relic, except for the village elder. When the village elder died a successor was selected and the secret of the relic was passed down which was written on an ancient scroll. The current village elder was Sanin's father. Sanin was always an inquisitive person and never followed orders, which got him into trouble often. whenever he would ask his father what was the secret of the relic his father would reply "Sanin! that is forbidden".
One day when Sanin was living in his village in harmony a strange man came, he wore a set of armor that looked to be made from ebony which is a common material in the western lands. The dark armor had some strange symbols which Sanin had never seen. This man spoke with a deep dark voice, "I am here for the relic and you will give it to me willingly or you will all perish", my father refused and ordered the guards of the relics to send the man away. The man grinned evilly and his armor began to glow a shade of red and purple, magic symbols known as runes appeared all around him and black flames began to attack all the people in the village.
The man enjoyed slaughtering the people in the village. He took the village elder by the neck and demanded the relic be handed to him. “Give me the statue and I will give you a quick death, refuse and I will torture you ever so slowly until you give it to me”, said the strange man, “it is in the center of the village, the big stone building, please let us live!”. Said one of the guards, the strange man smiled and a black flame touched that guard, the guard screamed in agony, “the thing about black flames, they not only burn the body to ash, but they also tear apart the soul”, the man said laughing and discarding the village elder. He then made his way to where the relic was and he passed by Sanin and stared at his eyes, which were shining yellow like stars. He kept going and grabbed the statue and shouted "I am your new master, grant me power now!" In an instant, he took the shape of a dragon and started to burn and destroy everything. The man was no more he was now The Dragonborn and left thinking everyone was dead. Little did he know that Sanin was alive between some rubble, Sanin found his father who was dying, and said “do not seek this evil, do not seek revenge, please promise me, if you dedicate your life to hunt this monster it will take your life too, just like it did your mother and sister and soon mine. Sanin I know you do not listen to order but promise me you will live!” but Sanin will not keep that promise. He buried his family and grabbed very little he could find among those things he took the family's bow.
Sanin knew he could not defeat The Dragonborn, he would need aid. Sanin traveled to find a master that can teach him how to fight and use a bow. After that, he went to study arcana and understand magic runes which he incorporated into his bow. He headed to the small kingdom of Nerelai that was looking to train new knights, he said that was his calling and began training. The real reason why he went there was to ask the mages to help him forge a weapon that he could use to defeat a dragon, a magical arrow was then crafted with powerful arcana. Then one night a dragon began to attack the kingdom and he knew it had to be The Dragonborn. Sanin was now ready to confront The Dragonborn.
