"You Intrigue Me".

Hayden's POV. I had been cooped up in my painting room for hours I didn't even notice the argument going on on the other side until there was a constant banging around on the door. I didn't want to open because I knew that Zac and Alex were going to be arguing about unintelligent things, I had better things to do but I knew that if I didn't open up for them they could continue to stay there till I opened. So with a frustrated sigh at their loud mouths on the other end I stood up begrudgingly and made my way over. I pried it open and there they stood, facing each other and spitting foolish words. I left them at the door and moved in to continue what I was doing. After several minutes of their bickering, Zac finally stepped in first and made his way to me. I covered my unfinished work Immediately before he got to see it, and thankfully he was too caught up in what Alex was saying to notice. "f**k fine. Let's ask Hayden then" Alex hissed, an icy glare thrown to Zac. "Ask me what?" I chipped in uninterested. I just needed them to leave. "We've been arguing on who knew you better and who you tell your secrets to more" Zac replied turning to me. "What?" I breathed out completely speechless at the reason behind their constant bickering. "You know it's me Hayden. Please f*****g tell him I'm your brother, not just your best friend--" Zac was however cut short by Alex hammering him on his head. "You are always out partying, you are hardly around. Hayden tells me more s**t that you" Alex drawled moving away subtlely in order to prevents Zac's wrath. "And you spend time with women alot you are hardly ever around. He tells me more s**t that he would ever tell you. You always have a girl up in your arm and you know how uncomfortable Hayden finds it---" "I don't find it uncomfortable--" "But you don't care" Zac continued, not even caring that I just spoke. "You go out chasing every girl you see, you are hardly here when he has a---" I needed to intervene before they said something they were going to they would regret. "You guys need to stop" they didn't listen. I spoke again and it was as though I was muttering words behind my throat. "Enough!" I barked louder than I normally did. That seemed to do it because soon the room was as quiet as it normally was. Their heads turned to me to find my eyes already blazing with anger at them. I didn't even want to know what had started this. I just needed to shut them up before they said what they'll hate at the end of the day. "Can you guys leave" I said, my eyes drifting away from them and back to the painting Ivy was staring at weeks ago. I didn't hear movement and then I glanced briefly at them, that was enough for them to go scurrying away leaving me alone in my painting room like I liked. I sighed exasperatedly, shutting my eyes and pinching the bridge of my nose in frustration. I hated when they got like this but I wasn't about to baby them. That time was all over. I stood up like my legs were in control and stride over to the painting on the wall. The same one that had drawn Ivy's attention, the same one I had been staring at ever since that night at the party. This was one of the first paintings I had ever done when I became a famous painter, before everything went to s**t. While other wolves were enjoying shifting and sprinting and chasing humans, I was locked in my tiny room painting and coloring. I was always deemed abnormal, when I could have been undergoing training from my father the Alpha then, I was painting. It always frustrated him to no end, he always said he wished I wasn't his son, that I wasn't the one about to take over from him. That was when it all started. I couldn't explain what I felt painting an image of a happy pregnant woman but with blood pooling at her feet. Maybe I wanted to portray myself when I was younger, always happy on the outside, a very loving, wealthy and well known family to other pack members, but it was far from it. I had refused to sell this particular painting no matter the amount of money I was given, it just hit close to home and I didn't want another pair of eyes seeing them. However I let Ivy see them. I let her see them and I let her see me in my element, something I had never done before. I didn't know why I had said I wanted to paint her. I just wanted a reason to have her around as foolish as that sounded. It was too early to tell why and I honestly didn't know why, maybe I would blame it on the way she was different to other girls I had seen in the whole of Crudetown, but I knew that wasn't it. I however needed her close to me. I needed her if I wanted to have the whole of Crudetown. She was yet to give me an answer and the deadline was today. I had not gone to school for the whole of last week but I had to go today. The teacher was threatening suspension to me and my friends if we didn't go. I didn't need school, but I made a promise to someone to finish and that was why I had to continue. I glanced at the painting one last time, Ivy's mental picture coming to my mind again before strolling out and shutting the door behind me. Zac and Alex must have gone and I presumed separately because they normally did that after a fight. I didn't pay too much mind to them. They would come around, they always did. I took my Range Rover this time, in order to avoid unnecessary questions from teachers and ogling from students alike. I got to school in record time and as usual I was late, I didn't care but I didn't want to show it so i wouldn't get a detention. The whole hallway was quiet contrary to the way it normally was. The only sound that could be heard was my silent footsteps on the tiled floor. This was the first time I was attending this class and I didn't know what to expect. I held the knob of the door prying it open, the creaking sound making all heard turn to me including the biology teacher. I didn't bother returning any of the stares and made my way over to the back, I could still feel stares on my back especially from the teacher but they knew better than to say more than two words to me. I sat down on the only empty chair at the far corner, my head bent under my cap as I tried to listen. I tuned him out however too tired mentally to comprehend any thing so early in the morning. The class ended and I picked up my bag to leave but not before being stopped by two blondes. I raised my brows to the bashful smiles on their faces. They kept staring at each other waiting for who to speak up first. When I moved to leave one tried to touch me but I jerked away before she could, my heart almost jumping in my chest. She quickly realized what she had done and began apologizing but I didn't wait for her to finish before I was bolting out the door. Due to my rush, I bumped into a softer body, my whole hair standing on my head at the severity of the situation. I turned to leave not even bothering to apologize but my name was called. "Hayden?" My ears perked up at the voice, the voice I had unintentionally mastered. I glanced up and there stood Ivy, her eyes widened when she realized it was me she bumped into. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were there. I was pressing my phone, I didn't look up just in time to see--" I placed my hands on her shoulder, her words getting stuck in her throat as she stared up at me. "Do you want to go to the canteen with me?" I asked instead. Her eyes widened the way it normally did when she was around me. "What?" She whispered. I didn't answer instead and moved to walk in front of her expecting her to follow and she did. I was just planning on damning the rest of my classes today and going for a run but it seemed my plans had taking a turn now. I wondered why I blurted that question out. I wasn't a guy who did anything on impulse so this was strange to me. And I didn't like it. I slowed my steps in order for her to catch up with her tiny feet and she did. Now we were walking side by side, our steps coinciding together. We got to the canteen and all heads turned to us - or to me rather, like always I ignored them and marched up to the counter. I could hear Ivy's silent footsteps following me. I ordered a cup of black coffee despite being on an empty stomach but I wasn't in the mood to eat, I looked at Ivy and she ordered a lemonade with baked bread. I guess she was hungry after all. I smirked before moving to pay, she tried to stop me but I gave her a look and she reclused. We find an empty table at the far back and made our way to us. Ivy was yet to say anything all through and I wondered why. From the little encounter we had on Friday night, she seemed like a talker, a loud one at that. I took a glimpse at her for a brief moment and she was staring all around us, and I bet she was straining her ears to hear what people were saying. "Why do you bother?" I asked into the silence. She snapped her eyes to me "what?" "What is hearing what they are gossiping about going to change?" I muttered taking a sip of my coffee, my eyes still on her. She shrugged. "I'm supposed to be used to this, I guess I never could" I stared at her for a long moment, hoping I could get a glimpse of what she was thinking. "Have you thought about my offer?" She choked on her drink, coughing and hitting her sternum repeatedly. I simply smirked taking another sip of my coffee. "f**k. Sorry" she said taking more of her drink to clear her self imposed cough. I hummed before passing a handkerchief, she looked at it warily before taking it from my hands. "I have thought about it but i have a question..." I stared at her, my brows raised as I waited for her question."Why do you want to paint me?" She asked the question I had been expecting from her. I shrugged before leaning on the table, my fingers crossing on it. She glanced briefly at my fingers and i saw her swallow nervously before trailing up to my eyes. "You intrigue me".
