Miserable Life

Chaeson's Pov

I keep running and running. I keep crying for help. I keep begging them not to hurt me. I'm just a kid. I don't deserve this. I deserve to experience every happiness that I could ever have in this life. But they don't listen. Their eyes are full of anger and hate. I don't understand, I can't understand anything. Why are they looking at me like I am the most evil. Shouldn't I be the one who look at them with disgust? How could they hurt a kid?

The longer they keep hitting my body, the lesser the pain that I can feel. I don't cry nor react anymore but I can still feel the hitting in my body. But minutes passed, I heard no noise of them cursing me and telling me that I'm a monster anymore. But I see him. His figure, how he walk towards me. But why is it like this? I can't see his face clearly. I tried to close my eyes and open again, but still all I can see is his shadow. When he carry me, I thought I will be able to see his face so I close my eyes again...

"Chaeson, wake up! Oh My God! Chaeson!" I heard the voice of a girl while feeling the shaking of my body. It's Accalia, for sure. "If you will not going to wake up, I'm gonna pour water in your face!" She really is.

I opened my eyes and see the worried face of her.

"I've been trying to wake you up for like half an hour ago. Come on! Are you going to kill me because of nervous?!"

"I'm sorry. I just had a nightmare." I look at her.

She knew exactly what I'm talking about. The nightmare is the tragedy that happened to me before I lived here.

Once, I was in the human's territory and no one knows that I am a wolf. Even I have no idea about it. I was just an orphan that has seen in the woods, marked with "Chaeson Green" in the upper right chest.

I had my first shift when I was 6 (Accalia said that my first shift was way too early than the usual wolf) and everyone saw it with their two eyes. I thought they didn't care since they acted like nothing happened.

But when the night came, the elders in the orphanage deceived me, made me follow them in the woods where they found me with chocolates in their hand.

And when we reached the inner part of the woods, that's when they captured me. I managed to escape and run but they captured me again and hit me.

They are so angry that while they are hitting me, they are cursing me and telling me that I have no place in this world. I should die because my kind is a filthy killer.

They keep hitting me but eventually, I feel that it stopped. I am covered with blood and wounds but I managed to get my head up and saw them dead around me.

I tried to look around and what I saw is a shadow of a man. I wasn't able to see his face. He's just like a shadow so I keep closing my eyes, hoping that the shadow of the dark will go away. But it didn't.

He carried me and I suddenly feel my wounds again. It is too painful that I lost consciousness and when I woke up, I am at the bed of this pack. And when I asked them where am I. They tell me that I am at the Night Super Pack.

"Are you okay, Chaeson?" Asked Skoll while entering the room. I just nod at him.

"Here's your water." and he gave me the glass of water and sit in front of me. "It's like it became a norm that every time your birthday will come, you will have a nightmare for a week. Aren't you tired having nightmare?" He asked.

I just laughed at him. His right, it's yearly. I think my mind won't make me have a peaceful life, just like this pack.

Suddenly, the door open and Gary, the Epsilon, entered the room. He's the old wolf who are not capable of fighting anymore so he's the one who's in charged of Omegas. He gives the list of what to do for tomorrow and the time when should it be done.

Skoll, Accalia, and I stand and bow our heads to show respect.

"Get ready, we will going to start working at exact 3.am." He commanded and we looked to each other.

"Epsilon Gary, I thought we will start at 7.am?" I asked with unsure tone.

"We received a notice that Mortons will be here tomorrow. So no complains and move." He said and go out of the room. We frowned but start walking to our own beds to clean it up.

"I thought, I can have the 4am free to look at the sunrise for the celebration of my birthday." I said in a sad voice while folding my blanket because I, Accalia, and Skoll usually do it in our birthdays since we can't have even a little celebration.

"Yea. I thought we can run for a bit in the woods." Accalia in the sad voice too, because we already plan about running and watching the sunrise a month before my birthday.

"That's okay, Cali. Maybe we can do it at night, before the sunset. Right, Skoll?" and he nodded and smiled at us. And he go back to his business.

In this pack, the omegas are divided into team with three members. And the only team that they keep an eye on is our team.

Usually, we three do the most works. The other omegas can have their break time anytime, but our team only have three breaks. It's because we three are orphans. We don't belong in this pack.

Every pack has its own unique appearance. Human or wolf form they usually looks the same. And we are nothing like Night Super Pack. In this pack, all of them are skinny and tall, men and women and have straight hair when in human form. But don't underestimate them because they are strong and fast. When in wolf form, their fur are color red with a touch of black. They will know who's who because the black color has its pattern. And also they are big that in one look, you know that you have to runaway.

On the other hand, Skoll and Accalia, twins, and I are skinny as well but we are curvy. We have more muscles than they have even though we're not training because we are not allowed to. The only difference that we have is that I have wavy hair and their hair are curly. And I am taller than the average height of women here, Skoll and Accalia, on the other hand are a bit smaller than the average height of men and women here. When in wolf form, I am also big with the long fur that is gold in the right side and ash gray on the left. While the twin is average wolf size and pure color of silver but they have mark in the forehead. Skoll's mark is diamond and Accalia's mark is heart.

They both know where they came from and the reason why they are here is that they are the exchange for the Treaty of Night Super Pack and Diamond Heart Pack made. The treaty is made because the pack of the twins are in great danger. They will be here until they reach their 18th birthday. And they will go back to their pack. Leaving me here suffering alone.

"Let's get moving now. What a nice day, isn't it?" Cali said while rolling her eyes and start walking out the door.

After we do our morning rituals, we go to the kitchen immediately. There, standing is the Luna of the pack. Luna Sierra. She will be always seen around the house, commanding all of us. The Alpha can be rarely see here. He's always in the quarters doing his jobs.

In this pack no one is talking to us except Epsilon Gary. They always ignore us like we have a disease. But we see that as a good thing because no one is hurting us physically.

As we walk passed the table, Luna Sierra turned around in our direction and stand like she's really waiting for us. And when we stop to bow....

"In my office, Chaeson." and walk away.

We look at each other but they just nod and tap my shoulder. So I look down and start walking.
