Chapter 20We checked out of the B&B and got onto the highway headed west towards Dow City. It was time to call Aris; once I dialed, I put the phone on speaker so Phil could listen in.
After I gave him a detailed report, he was silent, as usual, and we waited him out.
“I am uncomfortable with this situation, gentlemen. I would like to send Pete to assist you.”
As much as I'd have liked him by my side, I didn't want to pull him away from something else, and there was always something else in our line of work, so I was almost positive he was otherwise occupied.
“I don't think you need to do that Aris…not yet, at least.”
Phil said, “How about a compromise? If you or Carol can give us some local GK contacts, we can have them meet us as we go.”
