Chapter 6After lunch we walked up a block until we reached the Houtzdale Standard office, an unremarkable two-story brick building with large windows facing the street. When we opened the front door, an old bell hanging above announced our arrival. Two ancient oak desks flanked either side of the large open space, while a wall of equally ancient filing cabinets and a newer scanner/copier sat against one wall. A glass window graced the back wall, and beyond that, we could see an old printing press. As we moved further into the space, the faint hint of machine oil and dust wafted in our direction.
