Two curious invitations,

Upon awakening, I discovered that Esme’s mood had lifted in the most extraordinary way. I don’t know why. She didn’t say what had happened. She kept singing and prancing around in the mirror. Perhaps before long she might slip into the depths of despair again, but I hoped that would not happen.
