Luna stumbled over her own feet as the group emerged from the portal, but she landed softly as Aiden caught her fall, wrapping his arms around her. They both collapsed onto the hard concrete streets. Aiden groaned in pain as she fell on top of him.
"Are you okay?" he asked as she lifted herself off the ground, trying to figure out their location. It took her a moment to realize they were alone. She had been standing next to Asher when they went through the portal, but somehow she ended up with Aiden, separated from the rest of their pack. Her heart started racing immediately.
Asher was injured, and she didn't know if he was alright. Maybe he was alone with that vampire. Maybe he wasn't truly on their side. What if he was causing him more harm?
