"Stop pacing, will you? You are driving me nuts!" Annie rolled her eyes at her brothers, both of them pacing with racing hearts. Fear, panic, and pure rage coursed through their chests.
Aiden kept thinking that he shouldn't have left her alone that night. He should have known that she was up to something. And worst of all, she knew then that she was, in fact, pregnant. Still, she decided to surrender herself to the council. She sacrificed herself and their child. Right now, Aiden was fuming with anger. Anger that she took herself and his pup from him. It broke a part of him, of his soul. Something he wasn't sure could be fixed.
Yet, he needed to get her back. He needed to save her. He needed to be able to hold her again. Hold her, then punish her. For days! Weeks even!
