Chapter 2~ The business proposal
On Monday morning, Natalie woke up so weak, she was so tired from last night "OMG, I'm late" She said as she rushed out of the bedroom to take her bath
At the office
"Good morning, Mr Jace" everybody chorused as they stood up to welcome him to his office, They do that every morning with no one being able to look at him in the eyes
Secretary: Good morning, Over there is your cup of American coffee as usual
Jace: Can I have the file of the board meeting
Secretary: Sure, but there's a lot of work to do on it....
Jace: Why isn't it done yet??
Secretary: I was told your Assistant would resume today
Jace: Stacey, Just drop down the files and leave my office
Secretary: Okay, but there's a visitor waiting for you outside
Jace: Let them come in
The secretary left the office and Natalie came in "Go.od morning sir" she muttered
Jace: What can I do for you??
Natalie: I am the new employee
Jace: Ohh, the new cleaner right??
Natalie: Errm, Sir I am the new personal assistance employed not the cleaner
Jace: Why are you acting like one?? What does the time says on your phone??
Natalie: it's 8:30, I am just some minutes late
Jace: I am sure you will resign soon enough
Natalie: I am so sorry, Mr jace
Jace: Get those files over there and work on them, I need their details since 1940 till date
Natalie: Excuse me, When do I get to submit it??
Jace: I need them right now, you've got just 60mins to check them
Jace POV;
I will make your life miserable within a week that will make you think of resigning, just wait and watch what I am about to do "he thought as he looked at her"
Natalie POV;
How I wish someone had told me that he is the boss of the company, I wouldn’t have even applied, he deserves everything I said to him, This is enough punishment for my uncontrollably mouth
Phone Dialogue
Justin: How is it going??
Jace: Could you believe I asked her to get me the details of the broadcast file from 1940 till date and she completed it in 30mins
Justin: Whoa, that's so fast
Jace: I have a plan already
Justin: What's the plan??
Jace: I am going to make her life miserable that she will think of resigning
Justin: Jace, you have to take it easy on her
Jace: I won't, since you refused to help, I need you back in the office
Justin: I will be back soon enough, just get used to her for the main time
Secretary: Excuse me, Mr Jace what would you like to have for lunch??
Jace: Well, I was thinking we should go and eat out, what do you think??
Secretary: That's a good idea, I will inform others
Jace: Sure but Miss Natalie will not be able to because she has lot of things to do, isn't it??
Natalie: Don't worry about me "she said" as they left
The next day
Natalie was giving a whole load of files to retrieve and list out their details
Jace: Natalie, where are the files I asked for??
Natalie: I am still going through it
Jace: Well, you have just 5mins more until you lose your job "he said" as he went into his office
Natalie looked so tried and messed up that she doesn't even know what else to do, she didn't get a bit of sleep throughout the night because she was going through those files
Jace: Where’s is the file?? Are you done??
Natalie: I am sorry, I won't be able to do it "she said" as she threw the files on his desk which made Jace speechless
Jace: What do you mean ?? He asked
Natalie: I can't work with you a man like you, I think you are a man who does not deserve to be worked for, you treat your workers like trash or animal, you don’t even deserve to be respected, I won't be able to work with someone like you "she said" as she left his office
Jace: A lot more easier than I thought "he said as he sipped his coffee" I gave her one week but it took me just two days to make her leave
Natalie got home regretting what she had just done, She doesn't even have any hope somewhere and she quitted her job just like that, She got home and saw a quick notice written on her door stating she should leave the house in 3days
At the office
Jace was in his office celebrating the victory of his successful plan when a phone call entered
Phone Dialogue
Justin: Why did it take you so long to pick my call?? The chairman have been trying to reach you
Jace: We went outside to have lunch
Justin: What are you guys celebrating??
Jace: Miss Natalie resignation
Justin: What did you do??
Jace: I didn't do anything, she just decided to resign
Justin: Pretty sure that’s why the chairman have been calling you
Jace: Hold on, I'll call you later "he said" as he picked his business phone
Phone Dialogue
Jace: What's up dad?? "He said"
Chairman: Why have you not been picking picking my calls??
Jace: We went out for lunch
Chairman: I heard you just fired someone who is it??
Jace: I didn't sack anyone she left on her own
Chairman: Are you listening to yourself right now?? You mean our new employee just left by themselves
Jace: I didn't do anything to her dad
Chairman: Listen, you have just 5days to find and get her back to the office if you don't want me to do what you'll regret "he said" as he hanged up
Phone Dialogue
Justin: What happened?? What did he say??
Jace: The same old stories "he said" as he rolled his eyes
Justin: Bro, you have to bring that girl back
Jace: I don't need an assistance
The next day
Jace decided to step out to look for Natalie as his father would not stop calling him, he took the address on Natalie’s application information
Noah take me to that address
"Okay, master" he said as he obeyed
"Are you sure we are going the right way" Jace asked anxiously
"Yes, that is what is written on the file" he responded
"Okay, go ahead" he uttered
They got to the address and Jace entered the block and he met Natalie packing her stuffs
Jace: What's going on?? Why are packing up?? Is everything okay??
Natalie: What the hell are you doing here?? Why on earth are you here?? Haven't you done enough?? She asked on the top of her voice
Jace: Natalie, I'm here to help you need to calm down
Natalie: How on earth am I suppose to do that?? My mom is literally dying, I needed that job to take care of her but you made it your world instead
Jace: I am so sorry, I didn't realize how much that job means to you
Natalie: How are you expected to know how it feels?? When all you care about is money and enslaving others
Jace: Okay, I admit I was wrong, can we just let it go, we need you back in the office
Natalie: I don’t want to anymore
Jace: Are you sure?? He said” as he handed her an envelope
Natalie: I still don’t want to work for you “she said” as she opened the envelope and was shocked
Jace: Here’s my business card in case you changed your mind
Natalie: $5million, Are you crazy?? Salary for a personal assistance??
Jace: I’ll take my leave now, Miss Natalie
