Victory and the Silent Goodbye

486 Words
The room fell into silence, broken only by the sound of their labored breaths. They stood there for a moment, letting the reality of their victory sink in. Relief washed over them, and without a word, they pulled each other into a tight embrace. Despite the pain and exhaustion, they had triumphed together. This was their moment. As Saidi tried to walk toward Camilo, her vision blurred, and the world around her started to spin. Before she could take another step, her strength gave out, and she collapsed. Daniel reacted instantly, catching her before she hit the ground. Mia quickly contacted Sofia, who had been waiting for their signal. Within minutes, Sofia arrived, and together, they rushed Saidi to the hospital. Concerned about her condition, Sofia immediately informed Agent Mama Bear. That same night, Agent Mama Bear arranged a private jet to transport them from Russia back to America. Given Saidi’s weakened state, they ensured she had full medical support throughout the journey. As the night passed, they finally arrived in America. Daniel, Mia, and Camilo remained by Saidi’s side, exhausted yet unwilling to leave her alone. Though they, too, were injured, their only concern was her well-being. Days went by, but Saidi still hadn’t woken up. A week later, the doctors finally delivered the news they had been waiting for. Saidi had woken up, and her condition had significantly improved. Overcome with relief, Camilo and Mia rushed to the hospital without wasting a second. As soon as they entered her room, they threw their arms around her, hugging her tightly. Their eyes shimmered with unshed tears, overwhelmed with gratitude that she was okay. Camilo couldn’t hold back her emotions any longer. Tears streamed down her face as she held onto Saidi. “Why didn’t you tell me about this? If I had known, I could have supported you. I don’t want to lose you. I love you, sis.” Saidi gave her a warm, reassuring smile, gently wiping away her tears. “I love you too, sis. I didn’t tell you because I was afraid you’d be scared, but it looks like my baby sister has grown up.” They all chuckled, the tension in the room easing just a little. After a moment, Saidi glanced at Mia and hesitantly asked, “Where’s Daniel?” Mia smiled knowingly. “He was always by your side, waiting for you to wake up. But yesterday, he got an urgent call from his movie producer. They needed him to fly out to another country for filming, so he had to leave.” Saidi forced a smile, nodding as if it didn’t affect her, but deep down, disappointment weighed heavy in her chest. She had expected him to be there. Mia continued, “Oh, and one more thing. Julian Xander was caught at the airport while trying to flee the country. The police have him in custody now.”
