As Daniel passed the hallway, he saw her practicing different fighting moves.
For a moment, he stood there, captivated by her commitment. Suddenly, without even turning her head, Saidi spoke, her voice sharp and knowing.
“Are you spying on me? Or are you drooling over me?”
Daniel froze, startled but also thoroughly impressed by her keen awareness.
With a smirk, he stepped into the room and said, “If I were drooling over you, what would happen?”
Her cheeks flushed a soft pink, but she quickly masked it with a sly grin. “Then you can consider yourself dead,” she retorted, her tone playful yet confident.
For a brief moment, their eyes met, both of them blushing but doing their best to hide it. Breaking the playful tension, Daniel’s expression turned serious as he took a step closer, his voice dropping to a softer, more earnest tone.
“Be careful during the mission,” he said, his concern evident.
Saidi’s lips curved into a small, reassuring smile as she nodded confidently.
“I will,” she said, her voice steady and resolute.
Then they sat down and started chatting for a while. As they talked, Saidi decided to call Camilo, realizing it had been days since their last conversation. However, when she called, Camilo didn’t pick up. Assuming she must be busy, Saidi set her phone aside and returned her attention to Daniel.
While chatting, Saidi casually asked, “What’s your main profession to cover up this job?”
He smiled mischievously and replied, “I’m a famous actor.”
Saidi blinked, slightly taken aback.
“He grinned. “And what about you?”
Blushing, she quickly said, “No, I’m not one of them.”
Curious, he asked about her profession.
She answered, “I’m an astronomer, but I don’t think I’m as famous as you.”
Daniel’s eyebrows rose in surprise. “An astronomer? I think I’ve seen your face in some magazines. So, technically, you are famous. I didn’t expect you to be such a... nerdy scientist.”
They both burst into laughter, the lighthearted conversation easing the tension of their situation and drawing them a little closer.
