The Sign In the absolute stillness of the night, a spaceship wades, soundlessly, its engines mute. Suddenly a telescope is lowered with eyes directed towards the planet called Earth. The spaceship wants to explore these terrestrial organisms called humans. What does it see? As soon as the first images appear, the engines roar and the red lights switch on. From the central processor, a husky voice emerges: ‘I am incapable of handling this data.’ The spaceship is you; its body swimming in space is your body; the eyes of the telescope are your eyes; and you are an alien, travelling from outer space, wanting to explore the conditions of Earth.
