"Ah! My belly!"
Out of nowhere, Olivia let out a piercing scream and collapsed on the floor.
James rushed over, shoving Lisa aside, and bent down to help Olivia up. His brow furrowed with worry, and his eyes filled with concern. "Olivia, are you okay? Does it hurt around your wound?"
"It hurts... It hurts so bad..." Olivia's face turned ghostly pale, and her forehead was covered in cold sweat. Her feeble hands clutched James's arm tightly. "Is the baby going to be okay? James, I'm so scared..."
"Don't worry, it'll be fine. I'll call the doctor," James said without emotion as he got up and pressed the call button. He then turned to face Lisa and, without any warning, slapped her.
The half-open window allowed a chilly breeze to sweep through, cutting through Lisa's heart like a knife.
