Sofia is already tipsy , she’s had a lot to drink because they've been at the bar since nine in the evening, and when she looked at her watch , it was already two in the morning, yet here they still were , drinking and having fun.
The music was still loud, seemingly getting even louder as the early morning approached. There were still a lot of people , as if none of them had jobs or responsibilities waiting for them in the morning. She even saw a few big personalities, but because she was in the bar , she didn’t care. She was here to enjoy herself , not to meddle in other people's lives.
Aside from the drunk people, she also saw some making out. So what? They really had to choose the bar? Isn’t alone time a thing anymore? Anyway, a one-night stand is probably how it’s going to end for them.
Sofia glanced at her companions, who were also quite drunk, judging by how they could no longer walk straight. She saw one of her friends dancing on the dance floor, while another was just sitting , refusing to drink any more.
As she scanned the room , her eyes landed on a strikingly handsome man , a tan guy. His eyes were a pale blue , the color of the ocean , but as cold as the air when you looked into them. His thick eyebrows gave off a bad boy vibe , and finally , his lips were a deep red , almost irresistible.
Sofia couldn’t help but take a moment to stare at him. It was as if he was the only one in the room ; she no longer noticed the noise. However , the guy seemed to have noticed someone was staring at him.
When he turned his gaze toward Sofia's direction, her world seemed to stop. She could now clearly see his blue eyes, and she wasn’t mistaken—they were as cold as the wind, like a whirlwind drawing her in.
She couldn’t pull her eyes away from him. It was as if they were the only two people in the room. She wanted to keep staring, but then she felt a tap on her shoulder.
So, she pushed her attraction to the handsome guy aside and rejoined her friends' conversation, continuing to drink. She needed to forget about the guy with the blue eyes.
The happiness in Sofia’s chocolate-colored eyes was evident, as she truly enjoyed bonding with her friends. They deserved this fun after all the work they’d done at the office. She was the manager of the finance department, which her parents owned. One of her friends worked with her , and another was her childhood friend. The three of them had become close, each other’s support system.
That night , Sofia was showing her true self—a simple girl who longed for the freedom she desired. Her parents thought she and her friend Flair were just staying at the condo, but little did they know, they were at the bar. Her parents were incredibly strict , wanting her to be the perfect daughter—obedient, doing nothing but following every order. They portrayed a perfect family in the media, but in truth, it was far from reality.
That’s why Sofia was so thrilled. For just one night , she experienced breaking free from the chains her parents had tied around her neck. She felt like a bird flying freely, if only for a brief moment.
But even a simple bird caught the attention of an eagle. The smile on Sofia’s lips did not escape the sharp eyes of a certain someone. Not far away , the guy was staring at her , as if she were the only person in the room.
Each blink of her eyes seemed to brighten the dark world of the man. He wondered why he felt this way, even though it was the first time he had seen her.
He couldn’t resist any longer and quickly thought of a way to approach the beautiful lady.
"Give me one bottle of ladies drink," the man coldly said to the bartender. It would be embarrassing to approach the lady’s table empty-handed. After grabbing the bottle , he walked straight toward the girl who had captured his attention that night.
The man noticed one of her friends subtly pointing in his direction , which made Sofia look his way. She seemed surprised when he arrived directly in front of their table.
"A bottle of drink for a lovely lady," he said, looking directly into her beautiful eyes. She blushed—hmm, what a gorgeous lady.
"Th-thank you," she stammered. Cute.
" Thank you for this, but we can’t accept anything from a stranger , " said one of her smart friends , raising an eyebrow.
" I don’t mean any harm. I’m just here because someone caught my eye, a lovely lady in fact , " he said confidently. Well, it was true. There was something about her that he couldn’t quite figure out.
Offering his hand, he said, " Can I have a dance with you? " which made her blush even more.
Oh god, if she gives in too easily , this will be fun. She's so innocent, unlike some others who are after his money. She seemed like she didn’t even recognize him.
Her friends exchanged looks before both nodded at Sofia, as if giving her permission to dance with him.
" We’re just here, " said the girl in the white top.
" Hurt her, and I’ll gladly serve your head to everyone, " warned the girl in the red top. She looked fierce.
He simply nodded and took the gorgeous lady’s hand. They walked to the dance floor, where the song was wild and loud, yet they were dancing slowly. One of his hands rested on her waist while the other held her hand.
" Can I know your name? " He was dying to know her name—the name he wanted to scream.
" I’m Sofia Heaven, but you can call me Sofi, " she said softly. Ghad, she was so gentle , like she wouldn’t hurt a fly.
" I’d rather call you my heaven, " he said in a raspy voice, making her cheeks turn red again.
" Hmm, I think that’s not appropriate. "
" And why not? " he asked while slowly running his hand along her back. She was wearing a backless dress, and feeling her smooth skin made him feel even more like a sinner.
He slowly leaned toward her to whisper, " I can make you feel the word 'heaven' in your name."
Brushing his lips against her ear, he felt her stiffen but she didn’t move. Instead, she leaned into his chest and hugged his waist, as if she wanted to feel his warmth.
What are you doing to me, little heaven? Why do I feel such an attraction to you? I’m not capable of love, not even liking someone, yet here I am , breaking my own rules for you.
He felt a tug on his hand, so he pulled his face away from hers, brushing the hair that had fallen over her face.
"Do you feel uncomfortable?" he asked, realizing he didn’t want her to feel uneasy around him. He wanted her to feel safe with him.
Her once-normal cheeks turned red again, and she bit her red lips. Damn, he wanted to taste those lips so badly.
"I’ll just tell my friends I’m leaving first."
"Sure, I’ll wait for you here."
Watching his little heaven walk away, he couldn't wait to see what would happen. It was definitely going to be a long night.
