Chloe’s POV
It has been more than two days now, and I haven’t been able to shake off the events that played out the previous days. The revelation I saw about who the Lucas family truly is, the mess my brother got himself into and Lucas willingly stepping in to save the day.
They all weighed heavily on my mind, and no matter the activities I tried engaging myself in to escape from my thoughts, it just wouldn't work. I kept thinking about how Lucas's father had built his empire on crimes, and how Lucas might also have a role in all of it.
I couldn't bring myself to reconcile the Lucas I was still getting to know with the version of him the revelation had started making me paint out.
