Mia didn't know where she was going. All she knew was that she walked over to the small apartment she shared with Melanie and parked a few of her things. Melanie was sleeping at the orphanage tonight for a night shift with the younger kids.
She couldn't just leave and make her worry. Instead, she grabbed a sheet of paper and wrote her a message:
Melanie,
I’m sorry to do this but I need some space. Staying at the orphanage means that I have to see the Triplets again. I don't think I want another mate, Mel. I won't put myself in a situation like that again.
I don't when I'll be back but don't look for me. Tell Jennifer that I quit. Take care of yourself.
